Continental Lyrics

I've got a dying urge to feel the way you do
Too close for comfort, bed and breakfast in a spoon
The shortest breath of your young life
A long walk home on Friday night
You made one last stop at the store
So close to perfect, swear to hell, thought it was you
This bouncing baby boy's now turning baby blue
I've got your pictures on my walls
I've got a long list of calls I must make to your existing family
You had nine lives and one by one you chewed 'em up
Your final coffin nail's been driven far too much
This won't take long, you said, I'm not going far
Go wait in the car
Go wait in the car
I often wonder what it feels like to be you
A mess like this stuck on your hands with crazy glue
Ran out of time, no kiss goodbye
Wish I could learn to let this sleeping dog die without lying to myself
You had nine lives and one by one you chewed 'em up
Your final coffin nail's been driven far too much
This won't take long, you said, I'm not going far
Go wait in the car
Go wait in the car
You had nine lives and one by one you chewed 'em up
Your final coffin nail's been driven far too much
This won't take long, you said, I'm not going far
Go wait in the car
Go wait in the car

I saw them live in Seattle a few months ago... Before playing this song, Skiba said that it was about driving your best friend to rehab in a '62 Lincoln.

I'm pretty sure in this song Matt is talking about his friend comitting suicide. It's pretty much sumed up in "I've got a long list of calls I must make to your existing family You had nine lives and one by one you chewed 'em up Your final coffin nail's been driven far too much This won't take long, you said, I'm not going far Go wait in the car o wait in the car."

Great Song, I saw alk3 perform it at the Agora in Ohio....

I think you're right.. But I can't help but kinda think it's about a zombie cat. Sorry Skiba haha

Sounds right to me. I wonder how he did it though...because it's not so apparent in the song..

@stupidfuckingkid "Too close for comfort, bed and breakfast in a spoon" sounds like heroin to me

I think you're right, and it seems he did it because he knocked some girl up. "So close to perfect, swear to hell, thought it was you This bouncing baby boy's now turning baby blue"

to me it sounds like someone that went in to rob a store and they got shot. that sounds dumb, but apparently they died before they got back into the car.

I've got a dying urge to feel the way you do Too close for comfort, bed and breakfast in a spoon (bed and breakfast in a spoon is referring to heating heroin in a spoon before you inject it and the relaxing feeling it brings after) The shortest breath of your young life A long walk home on Friday night You made one last stop at the store (i think he means you stopped to buy heroin from a dealer) So close to perfect, swear to hell, thought it was you This bouncing baby boy's now turning baby blue I've got your pictures on my walls I've got a long list of calls I must make to your existing family (i can't take that your dead, i have to call your living family) You had nine lives and one by one you chewed 'em up Your final coffin nail's been driven far too much (your way past dead) This won't take long, you said, I'm not going far Go wait in the car Go wait in the car (talking to ssomeone else, wait for me in the car i have to buy drugs basically) I often wonder what it feels like to be you A mess like this stuck on your hands with crazy glue (you couldn't shake the drug habit so it killed you) Ran out of time, no kiss goodbye Wish I could learn to let this sleeping dog die without lying to myself (wish i could just let it go, i knew it would happen) ~DS

i totally agree with Dante Sint...when i first heard this song,it totally hit me that it was bout his fren's death and somehow it gotta be related to drugs..n i was right when i listened to e lyrics properly.. ~Too close for comfort, bed and breakfast in a spoon~ ...totally bout heroin on spoon..i read alot of books bout drugs n junkies..n im very sure he's talking bout heroin in this case.. I love skiba's lyrical content..they make me really analyse the songs n think many times what it actually means...some of them can actually mean more than one...i think he's a fantastic lyricist...i adore him and i worship him.. Long live skiba!

Could be 'bout an abortion gone bad. Wild girl, junkie perhaps, "You had nine lives and one by one you chewed 'em up. Your final coffin nail's been driven far too much" she was constantly on to bad things, 'chewin her lives up' and it all got fucked when she got knocked up and went ahead and got herself an abortion.
