Kann man Herzen brechen
können Herzen sprechen
kann man Herzen quälen
kann man Herzen stehlen
Sie wollen mein Herz am rechten Fleck
doch seh ich dann nach unten weg
da schlägt es links
Können Herzen singen
kann ein Herz zerspringen
können Herzen rein sein
kann ein Herz aus Stein sein
Sie wollen mein Herz am rechten Fleck
doch seh ich dann nach unten weg
da schlägt es links zwo drei vier
Kann man Herzen fragen
ein Kind darunter tragen
kann man es verschenken
mit dem Herzen denken
Sie wollen mein Herz am rechten Fleck
doch seh ich dann nach unten weg
da schlägt es in der linken Brust
der Neider hat es schlecht gewußt
Links zwo drei vier
können Herzen sprechen
kann man Herzen quälen
kann man Herzen stehlen
Sie wollen mein Herz am rechten Fleck
doch seh ich dann nach unten weg
da schlägt es links
kann ein Herz zerspringen
können Herzen rein sein
kann ein Herz aus Stein sein
doch seh ich dann nach unten weg
da schlägt es links zwo drei vier
ein Kind darunter tragen
kann man es verschenken
mit dem Herzen denken
doch seh ich dann nach unten weg
da schlägt es in der linken Brust
der Neider hat es schlecht gewußt

Rammstein simply stated in the interview that it's about the political spectrum and how they swing to the left rather than the right. They wrote it to clarify that, unlike all of the accusations, they are not Nazi sympathizers. I love Ramm ^_^
Links zwo drei vier is an old military chant that the German military used...this song is all aboot resisting government control or being in a prison of society, either one...konnen/kann is the German word for can, and lead singer Till sings aboot can hearts break, sing, spring, ask, cry, think and all this other stuff, and he says they want his heart in the right spot, but he looks down and it beats in the left, 2, 3, 4....
Quite funny, we get taught to say "zwei" and not "zwo". it's regional dialect according to my german friend.
Zwo is sometimes used to clarify the difference between zwei and drei. They sound so much alike.
Jaeger - Bullshit
Jaeger- WHere do you come up with your crackpot theories? Just because they're German means they're racists Nazi's? WHat about Megaherz, or Stahlhammer, or Oomph!, or Herbert Groenemeyer? Are they all Nazi's too? ANd anyway, all but one of the members of Rammstein refused to serve in the military when they were tagged by the draft, I get the feeling they aren't too interested in "proud Prussian infantry" regiments of old.
When i first heard this song i thought it was about Nazis.the video didnt help either. actually it could be.....huh.....im gonna check that out.
................... does'nt anyone do metaphores and similies in english? yes, no?
jager, sneeze sorry, I'm allergic to bullshit
breaking down...
"Kann man Herzen brechen (can a heart be broken) können Herzen sprechen (can a heart be spoken) kann man Herzen quälen (can a heart be tortured) kann man Herzen stehlen (can a heart be stolen)"
here 'heart' appears to be a metaphore for a person. possobly 'a heart' refers to Till.
"Sie wollen mein Herz am rechten Fleck doch seh ich dann nach unten weg da schlägt es links"
'they want my heart beating in the right place but I look below and it beats left from there' metaphore. it means that everyone want him to be a racist natzi (extremist right wing) but he is alligned to a point left from there.
"Können Herzen singen (can a heart be singing) kann ein Herz zerspringen (can a heart be springing) können Herzen rein sein (can a heart be honest) kann ein Herz aus Stein sein (can a heat be made of stone)"
again with the heart metaphore. so it might turn out to mean things like: 'can a person be made of stone'
"Kann man Herzen fragen ein Kind darunter tragen (can you question a heart to carry a child benith itself) kann man es verschenken mit dem Herzen denken (can you sacrifice all to think with your heart)"
I think this one refers to a different subject altogether. I don't quite get it...
Links zwo drei vier (left, two, three, four)
army marching, a good thing about this metaphore
from what i heard, people think they are fascists, but by this song they want to make clear they're the oposit
This is a political statement about being a rewbell to right winged people and military. Rammtein are left winged. All people who thinks they are not because they are Germans and because the singer the "r" the way he does is stupid and a racist on his own.
