Scary Kids Scaring Kids Lyrics

i watch you hold it above your head. a web of broken shatters up. it all collapsed as you clasped your own little piece of nothing you claim as your own. bite off your foot now. you chump. bite off your foot for a little something to claim as your own. finally your little trophy. try to buy back the freedom you sold so quick. you chump. you're chomping on what's mine. your practice perfected by practice. there's implications to your imitations. you got your art down to a science. you broke my art down to a science. turn your back on your stagecoach and sale away. you don't tickle my gut with your pennyluck. ugly abe ain't nothing.

great song. there's a lot of sadness and frustration in it, very well composed. i especially like the way the band starts playing louder and faster at the ending and tim's hollering the lyrics... there's a lot of frustration against someone in this song. probably someone close to tim, who was a disappointment.

Its a very sad and frustrating song indeed.

oprat, I think what we dream in sound is trying to say is that this song is good, but the band "Scary Kids Scaring Kids" sucks. Which is true. But I agree. when I first heard cap'n jazz, I didn't like them. I started listening to them randomly afterwards, and I fell in love.

This sounds like a song about Tim's (or the band's collective) frustration toward critics. "bite off your foot now. you chump. bite off your foot for a little something to claim as your own." biting off the foot signifies tasting what one has trodden down upon while also parodying the phrase "to put ones foot in ones mouth." the suggestion then seems to be that said "chump"has shit all over Tim's work in an effort to elevate himself above others. "Oh i'm so much better than you because I understand the work and think it's garbage." Brent DiCrescenzo of pitchfork.com ought to seriously consider these lyrics because he's a huge douche and these could read as his biography.

I'm not convinced that he actually says these lines: "finally your little trophy. try to buy back the freedom you sold so quick. you chump. you're chomping on what's mine."
