Basil's Kite Lyrics
when i fly and look down i'd swear that's not me. that's not me. forget your taught talking and lessening lessons. you strut like a stutter. dumb loser user boy so used to the abuse can't see how he's been used. pokes me in the side. mistakes my gagging for a smile. i can't fly till he can fly.

it's about not used to being happy and caught in a sudden moment of joy and not knowing what to do.
Cap'n Jazz is great i was they were still producing music.
wish*
It seems to me that this song is more about accepting yourself than anything else. It's like when you see yourself or hear your voice or something and you think "that's not me." Almost all of Cap'n Jazz's lyrics tended to deal with adolescent emotions like this, and always in the most perfect ways.
i wonder what, probably davey, is saying in the background when tim is saying "you strut like a stutter. dumb loser user boy so used to the abuse can't see how he's been used."
he probably means the user (abuser) of this drug doesnt realizes how negative of an impact it can have in his life, yet he struts like strutter and acts like nothings wrong, when in reality (sobriety) he is being used in all types of ways (financially, mentally, physically) as this addictive habit continues..

He's saying, "Baby blue skies, so high."

I always thought this song has something to do with drug abuse. Flying and looking down, strut like a stutter, user, abuse etc. but I also know that Basil was a friend of their's and a part of that who NW Chicago Emo scene 10 years ago. None of those people struck me as genuine drug attics.

I love this song, and my name is Basil. :D
i love. all.
that ending is one of the most euphoric things I've ever heard, it makes me want to scream along and jump and cry and kiss the girl I love who may/may not know how I feel and may/may not feel the same. incredibly sad and incredibly happy is a hard emotion to put into music but here it is perfectly, at least to me. the only meaning I can get out of this right now is how it makes me feel, which is insane
i am pretty sure this song's abt some sort of emotional or physical abuse and the narrators looking on to it. like the "dumb loser user boy" is being used while, the abuser pokes the narrator in the side, and he's disgusted but the abuser thinks he's in on it with him. if that makes sense?
