Beautiful song. I can't begin to express my feelings for it. I think that you may be looking to deep for an interpretation, because what Billy's really trying to say that, no matter if it's a crush or if you're just sitting around inside on a rainy day, it's love: "Love comes in colors I can't deny All that matters is love, love, your love" I think that funnily enough, he's trying to say that love is love, so stop thinking about it so much, so therefore, the interpretation of the song shouldn't be bickered over as a complicated matter, because the song ITSELF is saying that it's not that hard to comprehend. He's wondering about love, but realizes that he shouldn't think about it so much because over-analyzing leads to seperation of the body and the mind. That's a no-no.

It's interesting,because the title is 'crush' which generally implies a love that isn't true, and is based more on lust than anything...it is a gorgeous song...but I wonder about the depth of the love and just how ironic/sarcastic this was actually meant to be, considering the title.

to me it's all about trying to pinpoint a feeling. Trying to describe the beauty of being in love. this is a great love song and one of the greatest songs by Smashing Pumpkins. I think billy corgan is trying to say that there are many forms of love. "Love comes in colors I can't deny". There are many color. Or that love has layers like colors. I don't know, but i could be right or wrong.
i've felt like this so many times in my life...i'm sure everyone has. it's one of the more simply states songs by the smashing pumpkins. love is such a beautiful feeling.

the Smashing pumpkins deffinatly dont do druggie songs....
smashing pumpkins are great, but gish is nothing but drug inuendos. a great song, but when listening to the pumpkins, dont take everything for face value. billy is smarter than that.
