Beautiful song. I can't begin to express my feelings for it. I think that you may be looking to deep for an interpretation, because what Billy's really trying to say that, no matter if it's a crush or if you're just sitting around inside on a rainy day, it's love:

I think that funnily enough, he's trying to say that love is love, so stop thinking about it so much, so therefore, the interpretation of the song shouldn't be bickered over as a complicated matter, because the song ITSELF is saying that it's not that hard to comprehend. He's wondering about love, but realizes that he shouldn't think about it so much because over-analyzing leads to seperation of the body and the mind. That's a no-no.
