i love the chorus to this. there isn't a reason to be proud of your skin or where you're from- you can't control that. you SHOULD be proud of who you are though, because you DO control that. saying you're proud to be an american is stupid. it means absolutely nothing.

Anti-flag makes a great point. for "oil interests" this war bush is waging, it's not about terrorism as much as he likes it to be. america is at an economic decline, he wants more oil, because when he was still a businessman oil = $$$$. what do we need at an economic decline? $$$. what are we going to spend and lose by going to this war? a sh*tload of $$$$$$!!!!!!! 45 billion for this war. justin's got it! and they were hilarious at the plea for peace tour in philly. justin starts yelling at the crowd "and that asshole george w. bush can kiss my fucking ass!!!" he was inciting a rebellion in that place!

You can't say the war is for oil. And if it is? Who gives a fuck, innocent good hearted people were freed and given freedom. I doubt it's a war for oil though... There's no proof.

some people think saying you're proud to be an American means you are being patriotic or something, yes...ok, what happened to patriots being the people who fought for what was right even if it meant opposing the government?

gee i just love it when big bands like this try to complain about money. same for the people who support them. when you go out and buy their cd or go to their concert what the hell do you think happens? THEY GET MONEY! and lots of it. they are a bunch of rich spoiled hippocrates, who put people down for their beliefs. they try to say that americans who are proud of their sucess are the ones who are wrong, but if this were true, how come america isnt over run by low life punks? they are a small delusional faction who think they are getting away with something by writing songs against their country when in reality nobody even cares what they have to say besides a bunch of 15 year olds who are trying super hard to be "rebellious". in the end, whether you make your millions through oil or music you are still making millions. their money isnt worth any more or any less than george bush's money. it comes from the same government, same factory, goes through the same mail, and back into the same economy. its almost sad how delusional they are. i bet these guys drive cars that run on OIL! same with all the people who agree with them. they complain about "war for oil" as they get in their big cars and drive to WORK where they make MONEY. i have nothing else to say.

And for all you flag flyers out there, start caring more about the poeple starving, homeless and dying in your country and the world and not so much about your stupid fucking stars and stripes patterned security blanket.
