Good God, have I been dreaming
This paralyzing feeling?
Was I left alone?
Where have you gone?
Were you somewhere else just sleeping?

If I wait to wake you
I'll never ask you

Would you take my hand in the deepest end
Would you stay and drown in me?
Take my hand in the deepest end
My open eyes see everything

But I'm passing all the days
Through a window pane
And as the scene would change
I'd stay the same

This paradise was nothing new
But the paradise gets tired of you
A single conversation
Stole my attention

Would you take my hand in the deepest end
Would you stay and drown in me?
Take my hand in the deepest end
Would you stay and drown in me?

My open eyes see everything
And you see nothing
And don't forget it

Take my hand in the deepest end
Would you stay and drown in me?
Take my hand in the deepest end
Would you stay and drown in me?

Take my hand in the deepest end
Would you stay and drown in me?
Would you stay and drown in me?
Would you stay and drown in me?

This song is one my favorite songs by Finger Eleven. To me, this song about a person who feels like everything in his life is fucked up. One of those people that think or say to themselves, "I'm so fucked up." In the beginning, to me, it sounds like he's with someone who doesn't really notice that he is hurting and needs help. And this is why he says, "Was I left alone? Where have you gone? Were you somewhere else just sleeping?" And, "If I wait to wake you I'll never ask you Would you take my hand?" I think is saying that if he waits for her to realize what he is going through he might be waiting forever and never ask her for help. As most have said before me, I think he is asking her if she loves him enough to stay by his side while he tries to work through his problems. The part that really gives me this impression is "My open eyes see everything But I'm passing all the days through a window pane And as the scene would change I'd stay the same." The person feels like the majority of the people he sees are living happily and don't hurt like is and he is feeling like the world is moving all around him but he can't move past what pains him. So he feels like he is standing still and looking at the world through a window and the only thing that doesn't change is how bad he hurts. Something I, and I am sure many people, can identify with.
