can't belive no-one has commented on this song yet, its one of their best off Animosity. I think it's about someone (the band) feeling so much pressure to keep going and keep making good music with no stopping. I think this is a reference to their earlier days when they had shitty managment, and it is about needing to take a break so they can 'feel real again'. i dunno thats just my interpretation
I also agree that this is one of Sevendust's best songs on the Animosity album, I think you have a point with what you pointed out...but I think it can apply to more of a general note...I think in a certain way, the idea behind the lyrics of this song can be linked to "stinkfist" by tool on their "Aenima" album...basically, you need something real, something new...you need to feel real...the only difference in this one, Lajon is saying that he needs something "beautiful"....something to catch his eyes, the entire world looks bland, boring...tasteless...he needs that one entitiy with color to come back to him...so he can know that he's still alive...Maynard is saying he need something more intense every time to feel alive...

@sevendusthead i disagree with the boyfriend girlfriend thing ..they offer the chick money after she's been living on the streets in the video ...i know the video don't always go with the song but i feel like this is a message song ...to people struggling selling their selves short it's closer to the first comment that person's was on the right road but sevendust had a rep for connecting with their fans and knowing their struggles that's what they sang about things everyone could connect that's also why different people read their songs differently everyone can relate in one way...

I feel i went through an extremely similar break up as the singer as many of the songs are very similar to the situation at hand. The singer was moving so fast in thinking ahead and make plans with a girl (picture he drew). Maybe he was going so fast to make things happen that she was left behind. She got scared of loving and jumping with him so they grew apart. He wants something beautiful to fill her place. He wants it to be her but it's just not working out. She can't help him because she either doesn't know how to handle him or is too weak to be there for him. That's why they aren't together but they still love eachother. Love isn't enough by it self. It's a really sad situation...
