Stuck in my bedroom with nothing
But a voice in my head
Once my feeling was dead set
(I watch my will begin to fade)
What did you say am I restless
What can I do to relieve it
As my mind just melts away
Once I say - I can't be saved
No more change
I dodge the grave almost every day
One single life needs not to die
For such a cheap price
For one last flight
God save the child who lives like a whore
(I made it through yesterday)
Once I say - I can't be saved
No more change
I dodge the grave almost every day
(Liar)
Now my mind is at standstill
As I breathe to get away
Twice my feeling was dead set
(I watched my life begin to change)
What can I do to remove this
What can you do to relieve it
As my mind just melts away
One single life needs not to die
For such a cheap price
For one last flight
God save the child who lives like a whore
(I made it through yesterday)
One single life needs not to die
For such a cheap price
For one last flight
God save the child
(Chorus repeat 2x)
But a voice in my head
Once my feeling was dead set
(I watch my will begin to fade)
What did you say am I restless
What can I do to relieve it
As my mind just melts away
No more change
I dodge the grave almost every day
For such a cheap price
For one last flight
God save the child who lives like a whore
(I made it through yesterday)
No more change
I dodge the grave almost every day
(Liar)
As I breathe to get away
Twice my feeling was dead set
(I watched my life begin to change)
What can I do to remove this
As my mind just melts away
For such a cheap price
For one last flight
God save the child who lives like a whore
(I made it through yesterday)
For such a cheap price
For one last flight
God save the child

yeah i agree with hybrid sinister, saying he;s gonna live through all the hard times
awesome song of probably one of the best albums ever released in opinion
This song is amazing. Lajon's voice is great, and it sounds fantastic live.
I think the song is about struggling with your inner demon's. Trying to stay clean in life, and do the right thing. Fighting temptations and all that. It's about realizing that you're worth more than what bad things like drug's and what not can do to you.
I think it's about someone who's life are very hard but he knows death ain't the way out.
Besides what you guys said, to which i totally agree, i also think it is about not missing the big picture fighting your problems looking for an answer but also keeping in mind that someone may be worse off than you are. Not closing yourself to just what distresses you but also helping others if you get the chance to, the line line: God save the child who lives like a whore sounds a bit like a prayer right? or may be not...
Animosity is just about my favorite album by Sevendust, and Dead Set is just one of my favorite songs altogether. The line "Once I say, I can't be saved, no more change, I dodge the grave almost every day/ Liar" really speaks to me, as it seems to be the dialogue of someone claiming to have surpassed everything in life, through admitting that nothing will change him. (and liar implies denial) Of course, it has obvious connections to Christianity, and wavering in and out of it. And I agree with Obscure on the line "God save the child who lives like a whore." Many of Lajon's lyrics are written like prayers. It seems to have some more subtle meaning though, but I'm not sure. "One Single life needs not to die for such a cheap price for one last flight" It seems to have some subtle, possibly political meaning...
I think this song is about human smuggling.
drug abuse
i love the song, havnt really tried to analyze it though
