This song doesn't relate to me very well, as I do not enjoy the idea of drinking alcohol. Seems the song is about an alcoholic guy who loses his girl because of his addiction. A story we've all heard many times, and I suppose this song does a good job of portraying that. Song has a nice sound, as well.

I don't think its about alcohol at all. Don't you ever just take a break from life? Just not leave the house, watch old movies and have as little contact with the outside world as possible...for like a day or two? Well sometimes I just can't deal with people anymore...so I take my standard break. I think this standard break was just brought on by frustrations with a girl...all to familiar to me :(

i know this probably has nothing to do with it, but i make it relate to myself becuse school sucks, and all i do is sit around and do nothing. and tests are going on and i just dont do anything. "I'm having trouble making sentences, i'm older but i don't feel any smarter"... it's an amazing song, and i totally agree with castaside about how they should have included it on their own album :-(
Dude, that is EXACTLY how I feel about this song. I have all this shit to do for school and I know I have to do it, but I just lie around not doing anything productive. The song obviously has a lot of meanings but for me it's about just not wanting to do anything.

i dont think its about alcohol, well it might have to do with alcohol but thats not the main issue, the main issue it that he is in love with this girl but cant seem to make himself show her how much he cares. Or you could look at it another way, hes completely in love but isnt ready to admit it to himself or others, and he just needs time. either way this song is awesome, and i love it.
I dunno If I've got a different version to everyone else but my copy of From here to Infirmary has this and Hell Yes as tracks 13 and 14. I guess it could be the Europian version or something.

this song is just so good, i cant get over it. i think it's about alcohol, but if you look at in the broader sense of just wanting someone to realize that you care, it's so easy to relate too. and as a chicago native i can say that taking a walk down to the lake really can help. (i can only assume that matt is talking about lake michigan as they're a chicago band)
I think this song is about someone who just lost their grilfriend, and now that she is gone, they are taking their standard break from life...in this case getting drunk. Taking a break from their life by getting rip-roarin drunk. Has anyone else out there ever looked down into the depths of their 6th drink and thought to themselves, this drink is my freedom, it is my break from life? No? Maybe it'sjust me, but I think that's what the song is about.
