this got me into jawbreaker pretty much. :)

i love this song! the lyrics are really angsty and great in general and i love the lead singer's voice. hoo boy.

Jawbreaker was a great band, and when I pop in my "Dear You" CD from them, this is one of the tracks I listen to first. The lyrics are so true and Blakes' voice fits in between the guitar chords. I often catch myself imitating his voice while I sing with my band

how i wish he would have kept that part in.

I hate how blake just sings stuff I would think!only he sings it better. He's such an incredible lyricist its unbelievable.

as much as i read the lyrics over..i cant really get the meaning of the song..i'd really like to know, cause it seems realll deep im just not getting it..someone help me out

I'm sorry but it's true.) saying they pretend everything is okay and they pretend they are happy all the time, which is contributing to their downfall. (All my friends know better but I can't quite hear them.) saying that his friends are telling me that this girl, or this relationship isn't healthy and is going to fail, but he ignores them or chooses not to listen to their advice. (Still for the life of me I can't imagine our home) he can't image what it would be like for them to married based on how things are now (Good things, that's all I want. All I want for you. Hold me. It's sad and it's so true.) saying that he only wants what is good for her, and that she should let them just go their seperate ways, because that is what is best for her. Lie and say we're through.) back to happy all the time is all we ever do, if you are going to kiss someone on the teeth they would be smiling, so this is saying that continuing to pretend to be happy is all that they can do. saying that he wishes this was all just a dream. lie and say we're through- this means if she says they are over, that they both know that it's really not.

i also get the impression that she is pregnant, from the "starting to show" line and "boy or girl" and him trying to convince himself he loves her enough to stay with her, even though he knows it won't work out.
