It's about a soldier living with his past experiences post-war. Struggling to stay sane even after all the things he saw that were so terrible he would never wish them upon anyone. He killed people, so he has no soul to sell. Just another lonely broken hero means that he's just one of many soldiers suffering through the same thing. Also, in the second verse, he makes mention of faith guiding him, but in the chorus he says he's running out of faith, because he starts to question if what he did was really right.

I agree with Insanity also and when Ozzy says "another lonely broken hero" at the time of the war the soldiers were heros but once its over our country always has a knack to dump them off on their own and the psychological affects of the war and all the death and killing they did and witnessed leaves them mentally broken.
Wow, I love Insanity's analysis. I also believe that it is about a war veteran dealing with the post-war struggles to stay sane after seeing all of the horrors of war. It is really moving. I just signed up on this site to say that it really means something to me, because my uncle went to war in Vietnam, and once he came back, he was a different man, and was never the same again.

i think this song is about ozzy. i mean the lonely broken hero is him. he a hero to all these metal heads and he's broken from the drug use. in the start of the song it say he watched his heaven slowly turn to hell. he watched his dream of being a rockstar disappier. ozzy hasent had a soul to sell because he sold it for drugs. i mean in all in all its about ozzy strrugleing to find life through the hell he been through. this album talks alot about ozzy. in get me through ozzy say. he's not the Anti christ or the Iorn man( black sabbiath) an amazing album. OZZY OSBOURNE IS MY HERO I LOVE THE MAN
