Don't Stop Dancing Lyrics
A silver lining sometimes isn't enough
To make some wrongs seem right
Whatever life brings
I've been through everything
And now I'm on my knees again
Although I hurt I must be strong
Because inside I know that many feel this way
Believe we can fly
Away...away
Hey God I know I'm just a dot in this world
Have you forgot about me?
Whatever life brings
I've been through everything
And now I'm on my knees again
Although I hurt I must be strong
Because inside I know that many feel this way
Forget the pain and forget the sorrows
Although I hurt I must be strong
Because inside I know that many feel this way
Believe we can fly
Away...away
Are we hiding in the shadows?
Creed's songs always have deeper meanings behind the lyrics.
this song tells of a story of a man who has a heavy burden who thought that God had forgotten him because he seems to see no light.. (as stated in the opening verse)
however, in the refrain, God answered him back and told him not to despair in life and not to stop believing in HiM and to have a strong faith.. God told the man and everyone of us who are facing the same situation "Children Dont Stop Dancing" (dancing, taken not the literal meaning.. and children here is US, since we are the children of God). To be strong no matter "what life brings". moreover, God told the man that if he would just believe and remove all doubts, the man can do anything because of GOD.. even the impossible.. " Believe You Can Fly."
in this song once again creed has shown the best of all they have got.i think scott had a bad childhood and he is praying for the children of today to remain happy and glad.it seems scott and his crew love children like anything.thats good
I think he's saying about how when kids dance so free and light and don't care whos watching, thats how we should dance, and he's telling the kids to not stop if their still able to. 'Am I hiding in the shadows?' I think means is he hiding his true self from the world. And he feels like he wants to dance free again.
Scott's sister, Amy Stapp does the background vocals in this song. This is a very good song that really is telling kids that they can be whatever they want to be; they can "spread their wings and fly" in this world
i think this song is one of their bests. i'd like to point out that 'believe we can fly' is 'believe you can fly' :)
a few months ago i had a friend that died in a car accident... and a little bit after that, i listened to this song for the first time. ever since it has reminded me of her. even when things are bad, you can't just stop being free and being happy... i know it may not be the most common view of the song, but i can't shake how it reminds me of her whenever i hear it. i like it... makes me feel like, it's all right that she's gone. i've just gotta keep doing my thing and remember her, but not let go of my own innocence because something tragic happened... do i make any sense?
yup :)
Cool song! I have no idea why it appeals to me so much. I just really enjoy it. Especially the parts where his wife has the small part singing. Great! Thanks.

This song is about disco.
This is evident in the line "A silver lining sometimes isn't enough"-refering to the glimmer of the disco ball
"Children don't stop dancing"-refering to when disco no longer became cool
"Hey God I know I'm just a dot in this world Have you forgot about me?"-this is Scott wondering why disco is no longer cool
"Am I hiding in the shadows?"-this refers to Scotts inability to dance after an injury left him on the sidelines
This song always makes me cry especially when it comes to the line "Believe we can fly"-which is a reference to Barry Gibb and the non sexual crush he had on him.
DISCO ROCKS
SCOTT ROCKS!
GO!!!!!!
This is song is amazing. It is one of the most importatn songs to me. One of my old friends is a huge Creed fan and so am I. We listened to this song when we became friends again. We had a weird friendship and always seemed to be friends at the end. We aren't friends anymore, which is my choice but I think of im each time I listen to tihs song.
