To me, this long is all about stepping back and just letting things work out between two group of people. Two friends who suddenly have issues with each other and you're stuck in the middle. It's a song, I think, about getting out of the way of issues.
It's funny bc i went through a situation very similar to what the song describes, i had two friends one male and one female, they met each other through me and started going out even though they knew both of them were toxic in relationships and it would take a toll on our friendship as we would hang out around each other most of the time. Basically losing both friendships bc they would make me choose between them, which is why i had to step out in order to let them sort their issues out without a third wheel
This is one of my favorite Get up Kids songs. Sounds to me that he is taking about a close friend that leaves him or dies.....Otherr peoplle tell me what you think
I Dunno, but to me this song just seems like hes the third wheel in some kind of relationship and eventually his "thought to be" good friend goes with the other person over him. Its just him getting the last word....or at least thats what I get from the song...but I could be totally wrong! ;) He gave it all he could, but you cant always be the only one giving effort, it becomes too much for you and you jsut want to give up until they come around....
to me, i hear him talking about how his girlfriend is paying more attention to another mutual friend. He feels that he's over-reacting to the situtation, but in the end, he'll let it happen. He feels that because of the betrayal, they can't be friends anymore, and she'll never find another friend like him. but, who knows....
this song is definitly about him and this girl being best friends but he has feelings for her and expects her to have them too, but she has a boyfriend and doesnt feel the same way she just considers him a good friend.
This is a great song. One of the best by The Get Up Kids, I would say.

to me this song represents a situation that i'm going through right now.....there are 2 ppl that have become good friends & then they become friends w/another person & this person pushes 1 of the original friends out of the friendship....you try to fight but in the end you realize that you can't win....& it hurts...
to me this song is like my situation at this moment...my bf and i are best friends, but lately hes become really good friends with his ex-gf and that upsets me and i over react...they say they're just friends...
