I been searching for you
I heard a cry within my soul
I never had a yearning quite like this before
Now that you are walking right through my door

All of my life
Where have you been
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
And if that day comes
I know we could win
I wonder if I'll ever see you again

A sacred gift of heaven
For better worse, wherever
And I would never let somebody break you down
Until you cried, never

All of my life
Where have you been
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
And if that day comes
I know we could win
I wonder if I'll ever see you again

At every time I've always known
That you where there, upon your throne
A lonely queen without her king
I longed for you, my love forever

All of my life
Where have you been
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
And if that day comes
I know we could win
I wonder if I'll ever see you again

All of my life
Where have you been
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
And if that day comes
I know we could win
I wonder if I'll ever see you again

I wonder if I'll ever see you again
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
I wonder if I'll ever see you again

Not a complex song, but the feelings it evokes are. What happens when you wait your whole life for someone who has all sorts of qualities that you were not sure could ever exist in the same person, then that person comes into your life, becomes a huge part of your life, and then is gone, leaving so much pain in her wake? You knew that there were flaws associated with the amazing attributes, but it is impossible to forget the attributes and resign yourself to never experiencing again everything good about the one for whom you yearn. That is especially the case when you know that together you not only could, but would, win anything worth winning.

Right before the guitar solo, it sounds like he says "My love for apples"...

Now, each time you hear the song you'll be tortured, like me.

GT3 does have some great music, but yea this song, i love it, my fave lenny kravitz song. i just love the line all of my life, where have you been i wonder if i'll ever see you again. its like you meet that perfect girl and your thinking to yourself is she really real or is she more of a mere escape from reality.

awww...I love this song, although I had no idea that it was Lenny Kravitz. I like most of Lenny K's songs except for the dirty songs!!! This is an awesome song though, the beat is great and so is the way he sings.

I think this is about a guy meeting a girl and he can't believe she's actually there. He could have been waiting a long time, therefore had a yearning for her and now she has finally arrived. I hope that happens for all of us. Its one of my favorite Lenny songs.

this song is a great lenny track. an he knew that too. i mean the man put it on greatest hits without even getting public feedback. that is faith in a song an i think thats what making a good song is all about. i have been a lenny fan for 10 years now and i take a bit of time everytime i hear a new song from him to listen to the lyrics and comprehend what he is saying. in this song i knew straight away what he was on about an was affirmed on this when i heard an interview from him. he said an i thought that the song was about meeting someone out of the blue, making eye contact an just moving on without doing a thing about the energy that was obviously there. he said as an example it's as if you pull up at a traffic light an look over to the car next to you an you see this great person who you instantly form a relationship with. then when the light goes green you just drive off never to see them again and wonder if that was your soul mate. the concept to the song an the moral is to act on these feelings cos if you don't then you mite let your soul mate slip out of your life before you even had a chance to say hi. KEEP ON ENJOYING YOUR LENNY GUYS, cya later brothers an sisters.

I have always loved this song, ever since the first time I heard it. I just recently went on a week long trip and I met the boy of my dreams, I couldn't believe it...but he lives practically across the country from me. I was in my car one day and this song came on...and it just reminds me of him. Great song.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
