Marry Me Lyrics

I can't help that I like to be kissed
And I wouldn't mind if my name changed to Mrs.
This is one side, my conventional side
An attraction to tradition
My vintage disposition
My sincere architecture
And I want to cook him dinner
But I'm more indecisive then ever
And who believes in forever?

Who will be the one to marry me?

A girl in the world barking up the wrong tree
A creature conditioned to enjoy matrimony
Crumbling continuity, I pick up the pieces
The ceremony makes me zealous
As the past quickly ceases
Fear from being neutered
I'm now prude, now defensive
Quickly I'm altered and tempted by new love only rented

Do you believe you'll marry me?
You might be the one to marry me

Back, looking back, looking back at me
I'm not how I used to be
Take me back, take me back into history
Diamond ring, tie me down, just like it used to be

Who will be the one to marry me?
Who will be the one to marry me?

I love this song. She sings a line from Inflatable by Bush at the end...doesn't she? "So pretty when I'm faithful"

just as a friend of mine said to me, this sounds a lot like me...or what i could be like, rather.

this song seems much like she wanted to get married as she is intrigued by the tradition of matrimoney, but once she is she feels trapped and must get out. and then taking her back is what she wants him to do...she wants to go back to being married and "tied down".

if any part of this song is really me it would be this:

"Do you believe you'll marry me? You might be the one to marry me."

and yes that line is from inflatable. it's from "you're so pretty in white, pretty when you're faithful"

this song reminds me of when i was at a bar in avalon and introduced myself to this gorgeous lady (6ft beautiful), who was restin off the dance floor, as an 'up and comer' (haha) and all she had to say was never get married at a young age as if she was jealous that she wouldnt be gettin laid like all her girlfriends with random hot guys. anyway she mentioned her 29k diamond ring from some banker in ny, one of the best conversations ive ever had with a woman. tell me why...

at the end of the song she says, "marry me forever and ever and ever happily ever after(x4) something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. rented. here comes the bride, all dressed in white, (rented) here comes the bride (its me), all dressed in white something old, something new, something borrowed something blue. (its pretty when i'm faithful) and ever ever ever, for ever and ever(x5) happily ever after you might be (happily ever after) the one to marry me.."
