Greener Pastures Lyrics
You're always tellin' me to go out more
Go ahead, get out and see the world
But then I think, why should I
I'd rather stay home and cry
I never thought that I could be the other
The other way like the other ones
Let me open wide, let you see inside
And then you might agree
Would you say they find me unstable
'Cause they see me act a little bit different
But I know my way to greener pastures and
Think about it, won't you think it over
Please
Without you I can move
I can stretch my arms out, I can feel it
And when I'm in my room alone I feel good
Because I don't have to deal with you or the outside world
Would you say they find me unstable
'Cause they see me act a little bit different
But I know my way to greener pastures and
Think about it, won't you think it over
Please
I guess I'll get over it
Ooh - I guess I'll get over it
I guess I'll get over it
I guess I'll get over it
Would you say they find me unstable
'Cause they see me act a little bit different
But I know my way through greener pastures
Would you say they find me unstable
'Cause they see me act a little bit different
But I know my way through greener pastures
Would you say they find me unstable
'Cause they see me act a little bit different
But I know my way through greener pastures
Greener pastures
See me act a little bit different
But I know my way through greener pastures
Go ahead, get out and see the world
But then I think, why should I
I'd rather stay home and cry
The other way like the other ones
Let me open wide, let you see inside
And then you might agree
'Cause they see me act a little bit different
But I know my way to greener pastures and
Think about it, won't you think it over
Please
I can stretch my arms out, I can feel it
And when I'm in my room alone I feel good
Because I don't have to deal with you or the outside world
'Cause they see me act a little bit different
But I know my way to greener pastures and
Think about it, won't you think it over
Please
Ooh - I guess I'll get over it
I guess I'll get over it
I guess I'll get over it
'Cause they see me act a little bit different
But I know my way through greener pastures
Would you say they find me unstable
'Cause they see me act a little bit different
But I know my way through greener pastures
Would you say they find me unstable
'Cause they see me act a little bit different
But I know my way through greener pastures
Greener pastures
See me act a little bit different
But I know my way through greener pastures

This was my official coming out of the closet song. I was depressed and I lived with a bunch of friends but always hermited myself in my room and it was the only place I could be myself. I always stretch my arms out when I sing that line. feels so goood!
Too bad most people don't know old No Doubt...this song is great, totally my theme song.
I know what you mean -=tiedtothetracks=-, i really love the old no doubt songs.
"I never thought that I could be the other The other way like the other ones" and... "Without you I can move I can stretch my arms out, I can feel it". story of my life. right there.
This is one of the best No Doubt songs ever. Everyone else pretty much got the meaning. I can kind of see someone singing this to their ex as well... like saying "I've moved on to better things, I feel so comfortable by myself, etc."
best song ever. i get a sad meaning and a happy mood from it. when i hear it, i seem to think that she is happy for getting over her boyfirend/lover because he was trying to change her. i dont know, its just what i think about it. :P
i think she saying no one understands her, so "i guess I'll get over it" that when she's around all the people suppressing her all the time she feels cramped, but when she's alone, she can be who she wants without all the pressure
i think everyone can relate to this song on some level...who doesn't like hiding from the world in their room all alone?
Yes, Im a huge No Doubt fan, and of course their older songs were awesome. But I like all their songs.
I think this song is about depression of a teenager, well maybe not a teenager, but I figure a teenager since she says the "youre always telling me to go out more", i dont think it's about a boyfriend because Adrian Young or Eric Stefani wrote this, I dont remember which.
Its opening up to someone, theyve finally found someone they can tell what they really feel to. So they admit that theyre looking for better days, "greener pastures", but they realize its not happening thus "i guess ill get over it", like its their long dream to go somewhere and finally feel relaxed and happy.
Thats just me, I could be wrong. But thats how I always see it. Gwens voice is beautiful.
