Silent Scream Lyrics
Nightmare, The Persecution
A Childs Dream Of Death
Torment, Ill Forgotten
A Soul That Will Never Rest

Crucify The Bastard Son
Beaten And Torn
Sanctify Lives Of Scorn

Tom Araya is Catholic, so his anti-abortion view wouldn't be surprising. Also, the song is named after an anti-abortion documentary called "the Silent Scream".
"Silent Scream, Bury the unwanted child" Simply, the fœtus is unwanted, so the baby is killed
"Sacrifice the unborn" Showing that the "child" is unborn, therefore a fœtus
"Bearer of no name" The baby has been killed before the parents have even named it
"Extraction termination" The fœtus is extracted
"Embryonic death" Pretty self explanatory
"Innocence withdrawn in fear" Through fear of giving birth and having a child, the "innocence" is removed swiftly
If anyone is saying that this isn't anti-abortion, then they clearly can't understand the lyrics.
this song is the slayer's style to talk about abortion
I agree that this song is speaking of abortion. This song is so intense, probably The Only song I've ever heard or can remember that even comes close to the unleashing of raw power as Metallica's "Dyer's Eve" This is a true masterpiece of speed and power and it will Forever be one of my favorites!!!!
Abortion. I think the "you" refers to the mother. The "embryonic death" is "embedded" in "your brain" meaning HER brain. In other words, it sounds as if the narration is indicating that she will regret this decision and she will harbor guilt over it for the rest of her life. I think that the "death is fucking you insane" line is very graphic. The reason I say this is because I think that Araya is saying that in order to cause the "death" of the fetus, the woman essentially has to be violated in a way. With the vacuum/suction aspiration method of abortion, they have to go in through the woman's cervix. I think this is why Tom is using an f-bomb here instead of saying that it's "DRIVING you insane." Essentially, the woman is being violated in order to achieve the death of the fetus. That's my take on this song. My comments are not meant to take either a pro-life or pro-choice position; I'm just stating my personal interpretation of what Tom is saying in this song.
@ScreenNameNeeded This is very insightful. I was just listening to this song again and thinking about how much I like the lyrics from South of Heaven and how much I like the "death is fucking you insane" lyric specifically just for how wild and graphic it is. I decided to look the song up on here and am glad I saw your comment 11 years later. Death IS literally fucking her insane.

The whole South of Heaven album has very intelligent lyrics
Theres actually a documentary made in '85 or '84 where a doctor tells you how bad abortion is called the Silent Scream you even watch an abortion take place. we had to watch it in theology class i hated it, thought it was scare tactics
Songs about aborting a child. How the child has no say. And how the mother of the child has to deal with the thought of killing her unborn child.
only four comments? great song yes this songs about abortion
Yep, abortion. lettin out a silent scream.
Somewhat strange to think that the guys of Slayer seem anti-abortion. Or perhaps they're not, maybe they're just singing about it. I don't know.
