Wrap Your Arms Around Me Lyrics
Words by Steven Page & Ed Robertson
Music by Jim Creeggan & Ed Robertson
I concede that you were right about this place
I can make a perfect likeness of your body if I trace
I can hold you til you turn out the light
And I can't see
Do you believe that we are all innately good
Do you think that you would love me until tomorrow if you
could
Won't you please turn down the radio
So we can speak
I put my hands around your neck
You wrap your arms around me
I put my hands around your neck
You wrap your arms around me
I put my hands around your neck
You wrap your arms around me
I regret every time I raised my voice
And it wouldn't be that bright of me to say I had no choice
I can kiss your eyes your hair your neck
Until we forget
I concede that you were right about this place
I can make a perfect likeness of your body if I trace
I can hold you til you turn out the light
And I can't see
I can't see

oh my god ... who knew that bnl could be sexy? not me, that's for sure!
Funny fact: Abba and Kc & the sunshine band have a song with the same title.
"I concede you were right about this place/I can make a perfect likeness of your body if I trace" gee-darn, that rhyme is so perfect it'll take days to get that out of my head!
i thought it was beautiful. and then i got morbid..thinking "I put my hands around your neck" as in choking. i dunno.
It is someone in a relationship who is having trouble and apologizes for being mean to their partner. when they show them this perfect evening
i agree with muppet, i think this song is about a murder and regret. hand around your neck is mostlikely choking. He regrets when he yelled and didnt mean it. but it got out of hand and there is nothing he can do and no way to get her back. then he is left with her in his arms. All he can do is hold her in his arm.
I agree that this song is sexy. It's one of my favorite songs on Gordon.
I don't know that it's about murder, but I do think "Hands around your neck" refers to choking, if only because on the same album, the song "The Flag" has the line: "Last night, remember, when I tried to choke you".
I don't see how a song about domestic abuse is "sexy."
For me it is a beautiful, amazing song. I find, though, that it is more of an abusive relationship rather than murder. He keeps abusing, but at the sametime he is still aloving guy afterwards. He hates that he does it , but he still does it.
For a long time I thought "murder" in regards to this song. The line about "making a perfect likeness" of the body by tracing always reminded me of the chalk outlines at crime scenes. Although, looking at it now, domestic abuse does seem to be more in line with the rest of the lyrics.
