Until my honey comes back, sometimes
I want to rear back Jack, sometimes
And get a hump in my back, sometimes
I'm going over here, sometimes
Way down yonder, sometimes
Gonna get my pal, sometimes
I want to rear back Jack, sometimes
And get a hump in my back, sometimes
I'm going over here, sometimes
Gonna get my pal, sometimes

Hola. Here are the lyrics he's sampling. It's from an old African-American ring game called "Way Down Yonder, Sometimes"; a superior version of 'Duck, Duck, Goose'.
Way down yonder, sometimes Below the log, sometimes Wild gesse are holl'ring, sometimes Ganders trot, sometimes Bullfrog marry, sometimes His mother-in-law, sometimes Now let's get on board, sometimes I'm going to ball that jack, sometimes Until my honey comes back, sometimes I want to rear back Jack, sometimes And get a hump in my back, somtimes I'm going over here, sometimes Going to get my pal, sometimes

With this song, Moby sampled BESSIE JONES's "Sometimes." It's important to know that Bessie Jones recorded this song in the 1930s. Bessie Jones learned alot about music from her grandfather who was a slave born in Africa. This is more important than Eminem's ranting. This is more significant than "techno."
um... okay
agree'd mistah clean
God damn semus, just shut up. Please. I am sick of hearing people bash techno just because Eminem said something. I heard Moby say that the last techno CD he made we like 9 years ago or something like that, anyways. And just because eminem says something, that doesn't make it right. You're all just a bunch of sheep. Baa.
Ok, yes, some people are too stupid and just lump any electronic or slightly synthesized music into the techno category, why is this guy even posting stuff if he doesn't like moby? why is he looking at the lyrics?
i love moby & i love this song...it is so rocking live. oh, and don't judge moby, he's a highly intellegent guy. yay. ~amy*
Samus u knob - your musical education is limited to the point where you lump moby into the techno basket. i can tell you mate, your fag friend eminem is nothing more than an ignorant homophobe. i used to listen to eminem until he made that call about moby - now it seems he has resorted to picking fights to push sales. Samus you are the type of consumer that the big record companies love - one that is going to follow the trends and buy any type of shit as long as it has eminems fag name on it! another one sucked-in by all the hype. by the way i reckon this song might be about how he needs the courage of a friend to chat up a girl that already has a boyfriend.
this song is not immediately techno, i dont know how you could even put moby in a definite genre. Because the song, " ever loving" on this album just seems like a good melody.... nothing techno, rock, pop about it. Moby doesnt give a shhizenit about genres, hes all into feel good music, and i love it. This song rocks.
