this song is telling the story of johnathan's days at high school, when basically he was the definitive freak show. It shows how badly he wanted to beat the "jocks" at something and how much he craved friendhsip and or companionship

Aaah, one of my favorites. The contrast of the chorus followed by the shouting has much of an effect on me.

what are yo uguys talking about? I thought this song was obviously about wanting a relationship with a girl, watching her,thought she was his friend, needing somebody anybody. putting in his feeling getting none back

This song describes the feeling of loneliness after an important relationship/friendship ends abruptly. Jon is frantically trying to find someone to replace the void this person left but can't. It reminds of rebound relationships in dating.

The first bit sounds like he's sitting in a room with one of his parents and they've just had an arguement(I can't stand to let you win). He's staring at the other person and feeling stupid. He know's he/she/they love him(its actually "feeling all the love you hide") but wishes they had a better way of showing it. He wishes they could stop arguing.

He needs somebody because he isn't getting the love he needs from his parents.("all I need is to be... loved just for me" ) He wan'ts his parents to love him for who he is.

He does all kinds of stuff for them (chores prob.) but they still don't let him do anything because of whatever reason. Probably something to do with Jonathan's style, friends, habits, etc.("loved just for me..." remember?).

He does everything they ask him to but they still won't let him do whatever thing (giving gave nothing back) because of whatever they don't like about him. He feels stupid because they've tried so much to make things better and now they're practically ignoring him (i am nothing).

He looks and signs. Signs what? A contract maybe? I'm thinking a therapist or councilor to help him deal with his issues with his parents. But the therapy doesn't work out and so he feels worse then before. And so he needs somebody else to help him but he feels lost because he has no idea who.

I think that the forst line of this is wrong... I think its actually I cannot stand to let you in I think the song is about his inability to relate to people... he cannot let people inside and he cannot be open or honest with them... they do not know who he is and all he can do is sit there and remain closed off as he watches people and while he longs to relate to them he is terrified to do so for he fears rejection.

Well... Issues is basically about two concepts. The presure and dark side of the fame and how that fucked up things between the band and family. Jonathan divorced Renee during the Family Values Tour, because he couldn't be honest and loyal with her. So, this song, just like Make Me Bad, is about the relationship with her and the reasons of the end.
