i think it's at least partly about fame...or becoming famous...tryign to do it differently from everyone else, but telling u to remember who u r and where u r from, cos fame comes and goes (heroes...) but your past is always there so long as you dont loose yourself in the world of money...

I just wanted to mention that creed really puts some thought into writing their music. They also make each CD become a musical journey. Their first album was a lot more "troubled" and gradually it got tame. If you are pissed off, listening to this CD is a good way to calm you down.. well, at least for me it is.

I thinks its when he was thinking about his past and he relized that you have to remember where you come from, cause that makes you who you are, and it affects your thinking. Also because you will always have friend (heros) that will come and go, so you can become to attached to them, but family will always be there.

I once listened to this song non-stop for an hour...I love the guitar riff between the second verse and the countdown, it's amazing!
The lyrics are also very good (like all Creed songs). The hero part means a lot to me, because I often become attached to things/various people (heros), but in the end, none of them last, except friends and families. Of course, this is just my interpretation. The beauty of "Are You Ready" is it can be seen to mean so many different things... Gotta love it.
