Mr. Rogers Lyrics
Boomerang, Zoomerang, Doomerang, Up
The time has come to realize what you are, what you've done inside
The time has come, we'll have something to talk about
I will tell
Looking back...dumb
and now I realize...old man
how much you really loved him...dumb
This child's mind you terrorized...old man
You came to him...dumb
He really didn't know your lies...old man
Now, his innocence gone...dumb
He's that child you terrorized...old man
This fucking thing that I know, it came to me and you
This fucking thing that I know, because of you
My childhood is gone, because I loved you
My childhood is gone, because I loved you
Be my neighbor
Looking back...child
and now I realize...fucker
how much you really loved him...child
This child's mind you hypnotized...fucker
You came to him...child
He really didn't know your lies...fucker
Now, his innocence gone...child
I'm that child you terrorized...fucker
chorus
But you told me that everybody was my neighbor
You took advantage of me, like I took a trip anywhere
I wish I wouldn't have watched you, I really mean it
My childhood, a failure
What a fuckin neighbor
I hate you, I will tell
chorus
This fucking thing that I feel!!!
This fucking thing that I feel!!!
My childhood is gone!!!
My childhood is gone!!!
I will tell...
The time has come, we'll have something to talk about
I will tell
and now I realize...old man
how much you really loved him...dumb
This child's mind you terrorized...old man
You came to him...dumb
He really didn't know your lies...old man
Now, his innocence gone...dumb
He's that child you terrorized...old man
This fucking thing that I know, because of you
My childhood is gone, because I loved you
My childhood is gone, because I loved you

Back in the day when I was a speed freak, um... even further back when I was a little kid watchin' Mr. Rogers, that shit was scary. He was a freaky old man... Land of Makebelieve and Mr. FuckinMcFeely and shit... made me sick. So back when I was doing speed, like for 5 or 6 days I'd be trippin out and my brain would start to get freaky and get schizophrenic and stuff, and I'd tape it and watch it everyday over and over... I don't know, I was sick in the head. As a kid he told me to be polite and all it did was get me picked on. I fucking hate that man. Thanks for making me polite and trusting everyone, and easy to take advantage of. So I spent 3 months on that one song, just tweakin' on it, and it was totally just my Mr. Rogers obsession, about how evil I thought he was. Pretty much drug induced." - Jonathan Davis
Mr Rogers neighborhood was an awesome show, unfortanatley kids took it seriously thinking everyone was their neighbor and ended up gettin kidnapped or bum raped. This song is basically Dissen Mr Rogers, talkin about how its his fault that some kids lives are messed up. Jonathan Davis's in particular. He just took the message the wrong way, when mr. rogers said "wont you be my neighbor" he met wont you act nice and courteous to me and lend a helping hand. He was trying to get the world to act that way to one another be each others neighbors, not sayin go out and trust everyone their all your neighbors and their all nice ppl. He knew the world was fucked up, and thats why he said those things. But alot of kids, including myself, could really give a rats ass about what it meant. It was just a show that came on why you would eat your cheese and crackers at grandmas house waitin for mom to get off work. Poor Mr. Rogers, god rest his soul.
Once again us Brits are at a disadvantage...who the fudge is Mr. Rogers?!
R.I.P. Mr. Rogers ... =\
It is related to the song 'Daddy'. Jonathan has said that Mr. Rogers told him that he should be kind to his neighbors, that they were all good people...then Jonathan got sexually abused by one of his neighbors. The song "Daddy" tells about the actual abuser, "Mr. Rogers" talks about the possible influence that caused him to be extra naive to strangers as a child ("But you told me that everybody was my neighbor") thus made it easier for him and maybe others wide-eyed child trust to be taken advantage of by sick perverts.
But while blaming both attacker and influence, he still also blames himself for falling into trust of both, like if he wasn't so 'dumb', it never would have happened, as most who were abused think. ("Looking back...dumb"/"Now, his innocence gone...dumb")
I completely understand why Mr. Rogers freaked Jon out. Check out these lyrics from a song he used to sing. Eerie, no? "Some are fancy on the outside. Some are fancy on the inside. Everybody's fancy. Everybody's fine. Your body's fancy and so is mine.
Boys are boys from the beginning. Girls are girls right from the start. Everybody's fancy. Everybody's fine. Your body's fancy and so is mine.
Girls grow up to be the mommies. Boys grow up be the daddies. Everybody's fancy. Everybody's fine. Your body's fancy and so is mine.
I think you're a special person And I like your ins and outsides. Everbody's fancy. Everybody's fine. Your body's fancy and so is mine."
@Static19 that's just fucked up...

its not about the actual mr rogers, its just using his name to refer to JD's childhood neighbor who had molested him. Mr Rogers is commonly know as a neighbor, and since Jon never disclosed his abusers name, thats what he refers to him by. Hes saying how his innocence and childhood are gone because of what this evil man did.
wow, i must be pretty late, huh? anyways, i listened to this in the car today and i really listened closely. this is my interpretation.
basically, this line "my childhood is gone / because i loved you" means jon loved someone, but it obviously impacted him in a way that made him loose his childhood. "be my neighbour" means he wanted to be kind to everyone, he was being vulnerable. "fred told me everybody was my neighbour, they took advantage of me, you let them take turns hitting me, i wish i never wouldve watched you, you really made my childhood a failure" mr. rogers' show encouraged kids that you were meant to be kind to everyone (again) and everybody was your neighbour. but now jon wishes he didnt take it seriously, as it left him being disappointed by the outcome of trusting everyone around him. just based on "you let them take turns hitting me" it means there were probably more people who hit him, just one abuser.
in short, jonathan was influenced by mr. rogers that everyone was his neighbour. it ended up not being true, and it resulted to being beaten(?) and sexually abused as a young child.
Mr.Rogers = Scarey
I think the crux of this song is the final line "I will tell...".
