i love this song, i used to hate. I'm a hard core bush fan, i thought that this was one of their dumbest songs. But then, i started to listen to it, over and over again. and i relized how beautiful it is. It's not your typical mushy love song, but it is a mushy love song, just different. It's absolutely great. It talks about something that almost all of us have experienced, and that is love. They describe it in such a great and powerful way. plus, every bush song is awesome, but this one is just at the top of the list. And the music in the back round is amazing. a must-listen to bush song.
Loved this song and testosterone when i first got CD (probably still favs). This song had a double meaning to me. I got the same vibe of song as most here did, being idle in a lovers arms thinking of nothing but happiness. I read a book called "Communion" by Whitley Streiber, very cool read (based on true events, lol). Mentions of 'velvety' skin and blonde haired humans and the main characters yearning to see the aliens althoguh they scare the crap out of him. He mentions being in love with them. Very cool twist to the song for me, lol. Odd but cool coincedent.

i dont really get it either but its a good song to listen to if your sad and depressed. "She Come Take Me Away" is my favourite line i dunno maybe cause I wish someone would come and take me away to a life of happiness. Its one of the deepest songs I know and it is very underrated. sad song.

this song, like most of bush stuff, is so metaphorically involved that it would be impossible to give one "correct" meaning.
its definately about those silent times with a lover.. but it goes deeper..
"satelites come and go" - satelites of pain, the realisation comes and goes
"i'm an alien, you're an alien" - meant to be together - 2 people
"beautiful rain" - beautiful feeling/realisation
"second blonde child" - a contrast from the fact that thay're both aliens.. also - a child is born every 1/4 of a second.. there's 4 main hair colours.. therefore a blonde child is born every second.. "blonde" is considered beautiful - aryans! everyone else is beautiful and "feels like velvet" whereas we're "aliens"..

I love this song! I think this song is about two people in love, and nothing else matters but the other person. The world could be ending behind them, but as long as they have each other, nothing else matters. Not a typical love song, that's what makes it so great. It's not like "Oh, I love you so much, Let's live together, we can have sex and have little babies" It's about that one moment when you're holding the person you love in your arms and nothing matters except that moment. Great song!

I agree with treestump..."Stare at the light on the wall" Those moments where you're just holding eachother and you don't have to talk or makeout or anything, and those times are great.
The other thing I get from it is "I'm an alien, you're an alien, it's a beautiful rain" Like maybe they both don't fit in with the crowd, but it doesn't matter they have eachother, and the rain looks better when you're in love.
