Disappear Lyrics
In living with a fear of chance
The chance of fears the only reason you're awake
We'll decrease in size when burdened with your mind
But you'll know escape is to run
In a constant commotion
When I speak it's revulsion maybe you'll
(Disappear) disappear
(Disappear) disappear
In a constant commotion
When I speak it's revulsion maybe you'll
(Disappear) disappear
(Disappear) disappear
Recall the past when you were strong
Those distant days it seems are now forever gone
You'll increase desire to wander and retire
But you'll know escape is to run
In a constant commotion
When I speak it's revulsion maybe you'll
(Disappear) disappear
(Disappear) disappear
In a constant commotion
When I speak it's revulsion maybe you'll
(Disappear) disappear
(Disappear) disappear
The chance of fears the only reason you're awake
We'll decrease in size when burdened with your mind
But you'll know escape is to run
When I speak it's revulsion maybe you'll
(Disappear) disappear
(Disappear) disappear
When I speak it's revulsion maybe you'll
(Disappear) disappear
(Disappear) disappear
Those distant days it seems are now forever gone
You'll increase desire to wander and retire
But you'll know escape is to run
When I speak it's revulsion maybe you'll
(Disappear) disappear
(Disappear) disappear
When I speak it's revulsion maybe you'll
(Disappear) disappear
(Disappear) disappear

This is one of the bands most depressing songs musically. There are two characters in the song, one is the person in pain (the burden), the other is the person who takes care. Obviously the burden is becoming too great so disappearing is the only way to escape, since mentally and physically, the burden will always be there
The song is about confronting the power of an abuser and making their terrible power to control the person 'disappear'. However as we heal, we are feeling the need to escape and return to the weakness of whom we were before. The "constant commotion" of our internal thoughts drives us to stop the healing process and escape from the pain. "You'll increase desire to wander and retire" which means that the person will use drugs or drink and then stop, but our feelings will remain leaving us nothing to do except to keep fleeing the pain until it all disappears.
As I've got older, my desire to wander and retire has indeed increased.
