I interpert that as he is telling his dad dont come home if he isnt clean because it will only break his mothers heart.
I think I heard Darius say it was about his brother and his addiction..
I used to think this was about a father leaving his wife and children for another woman. The children would see their mother as an angel and the other woman as the devil. However, the reference to the white horse changes everything. There are stories of Darius having a sibling who got hooked on heroine.
White horse = heroine
Drug addicts lie and steal. They break promises. They can clean up and come home, and they break hearts when they go out again. Not judging, just saying that's what they do. I've seen it up close and it's ugly.
But when they get it together, miracles can happen. So if Darius has a brother with addiction, I pray that he got clean.

This one is about the one he loved, who always seemed to betray him. I think it broke his heart to have this happen, but he still loves her. He just doesn't want her to come back if she's going to break his heart again.
Heard him say about 20 years ago it's definitely about his older brother who was a drug addict at the time.
