Cover art for Running From An Angel lyrics by Hootie & the Blowfish

I used to think this was about a father leaving his wife and children for another woman. The children would see their mother as an angel and the other woman as the devil. However, the reference to the white horse changes everything. There are stories of Darius having a sibling who got hooked on heroine.

White horse = heroine

Drug addicts lie and steal. They break promises. They can clean up and come home, and they break hearts when they go out again. Not judging, just saying that's what they do. I've seen it up close and it's ugly.

But when they get it together, miracles can happen. So if Darius has a brother with addiction, I pray that he got clean.

My Interpretation

@thgjd Definitely the most resonating interpretation of them all, but that’s just my opinion and interpretation as well lol. I never knew that the white horse reference was for heroin… you learn something new every day
