ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, FIVE
SIX, SEVEN, EIGHT, NINE, OUT!

Everybody waits for the light
Scared? - don't be scared!
The sun shines on my eyes
And the sun will keep on shining tonight
As the world counts to ten

[ONE]
Here comes the Sun
[TWO]
Here comes the sun
[THREE]
It is the brightest star of all
[FOUR]
Here comes the sun

The sun shines from my hands
It burns and perplexes you
So if it starts breaking fists
The sun's face will become heated

The sun will keep on shining tonight
As the world counts to ten

Refrain:

[ONE]
Here comes the Sun
[TWO]
Here comes the sun
[THREE]
It is the brightest star of all
[FOUR]
Here comes the sun

[FIVE]
Here comes the Sun
[SIX]
Here comes the sun
[SEVEN]
It is the brightest star of all
[EIGHT]
Here comes the sun

The sun shines from my hands
It burns and perplexes you
So if it starts breaking fists
Heat will be put on your face
It will hurt you on the chest
As the equality is lost
It lets you go down hard when
The world counts to ten

[ONE]
Here comes the Sun
[TWO]
Here comes the sun
[THREE]
It is the brightest star of all
[FOUR]
From heaven, it shall never fall

[FIVE]
Here comes the Sun
[SIX]
Here comes the sun
[SEVEN]
It is the brightest star of all
[EIGHT, NINE]
Here comes the sun

This song was origanally written for a boxer ((one of the Kitschko-brothers)) but when it was finished he refused to use it, so they put it on Mutter, the boxing element is SO clear in the song, the 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,AUS((KO)) the whole world watches him, and he will never fall from the sky ((he is the best))...

Another interpretation of this song goes together with the videoclip((yes Sonne was released in Germany and Holland first not Links like in the US)) if you watch the video clip you think it's about drugs, getting in to a trance, ((here comes the sun)).

Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
