A Postcard Would Be Nice Lyrics

Lost yourself it didn't take much time
it wasn't hard to find
now that you've been to the edge,
stood and looked down from the top
and found it wasn't worth the pain,
a selfish way to say
I'm the only one that counts and
happiness is out

Really insecure, disguising what's inside
you're not cool to me
I won't wait in the back of the line

No one knows exactly where you went
the money has been spent
sent the search team,
I'm about to call it off
feel you close when you're so far away,
a straw inside your vein
as it sucks the life from you
I watch it all come true

When it happens like a million
times before
I won't close my mind but I refuse to
open the door

Feel the world caving in you had so
much left to give
Is it worth the tide you turned
all the people that you burned?
So lng to your little friend this is how
the story ends
I'm the only one cause nobody cared anyway

Hate yourself just like I thought you
would, it didn't do us good
I'm afraid of being right so before we
say goodbye to you
come down from off your throne
and let the truth be known
we all know you're not insane,
it's how you play this game

Really insecure, disguising what's inside
it's not cool to me when the game is a fake suicide

This song is about someone thinking that they are too good for you. They have found something more in thier life, such as a girlfreind or new status. You used to be good freinds with them but now they won't even talk to you. A postcard or even phone call would be nice from them.

I agree with above, but I think it goes further along, with this person who thought they were too good losing all of their "friends" and realizing that they only had one true friend to begin with.

maybe, I'm really wrong her but i always thought this song meant that someone was all depressed, ditched all his/her friends, stopped having fun.. and acted liek they were going to kill themselves for attention.. Hmm..But the previous ideas make sense too.. Oh well.

No Use For A Name have an uncanny ability to have at least a few songs from each album remind me of this chick at my school. This is one of them. She thinks she's better than her friends and tries to make herself seem like the cool loser by saying she's not. I... UGH. She thinks shes better than me. She always talks about all these bullshit stories. The last few lines- that just spoke RIGHT out to me.

Seriously I think, you getting this all wrong. I think, this song is about people that are sick and depressed with the situation their in, but they do and say nothing about it, until they run away or kill themself. And the ones that are left behind can't understand and feel guilty, but what could they've done, when those people never made a sound in the first place? This song is about telling those people that this attitude sucks and that they can eat shit, 'cause the singer won't feel guilty at all no more.
