Pig Lyrics

Have you ever wanted to die when you were without your friends?
Haven’t you said goodbye to the one on who your life depends?
Could it be that I don’t wanna save you anymore? Could it be that we don’t have what it takes?
(Yeah)

Have you ever wished for fire to burn away your mind restraints?
Haven’t you been for hire or suffered those cheap complaints?
Could it be that I don’t wanna save you anymore?
Could it be that we don’t have what it takes?
Take it away ‘cause I don’t like this anymore
Take it away and throw it away

Have you ever wanted to die when you were without your friends?
Haven’t you said goodbye to the one on who your life depends?
Could it be that I don’t wanna hurt you anymore? Could it be that we don’t have what it takes?

Take it away ‘cause I don’t like this anymore
Take it away and throw it away
Take it away ‘cause I don’t like this anymore
Take it away and throw it away

I heard this song and actually got shivers. It is so relevant to the relationship that I'm currently in, and I hope that I don't end up having to leave, like 4saken did. If it's not evident enough, the song's pretty much about a guy who has just gotten burnt out trying to solve all of his girlfriend's problems and being relied on so heavily. He just wants to get away from it all, "throw it away," essentially. Right now, I'm having many of the same thoughts, as my girlfriend is quite emotionally needy.

Also, to thebennieboi: I think you should step down and leave 4saken alone. He's simply tying in his own personal experiences with the song and attempting to show how he can relate to it, not immaturely bash his ex. I think he's well aware that Seether wrote this song, so you're kind of making a jackass out of yourself.

This song is totally about me and my ex. I swear he had a psychic vision of how it would go between us and wrote this. She's insanely bitter now and makes no bones about constantly reminding me how much she resents me now. She's got issues and they keep her from making friends easily. When we were together she just latched on to me like she needed me to stay afloat. Even stating that she "wanted me all to herself". It was disturbing when I saw that she was serious, using all my energy to fill her void.

Always longing for friends, and complaining about any scapegoat that she could use to blame the fact that she isn't a social butterfly like she wished she could be. So after dealing with this for 2 years and trying to help her I just burnt out. I wasn't happy. It was hurting me and it was hurting her. So I ended it, and it hurt badly, but I've moved on. The song is just so perfect.

Honestly, Seether has got to be my favorite band for the time being. I love the lyrics, the hard guitar rifts, the sound and blend of it all...but doesn't anyone ever get tired of "poor me and my ex girlfriend didn't work out" it seems like almost all rock songs are about being excluded from society or some group or about some bad break up between you and your mate. Sure it's bad, and some songs are worth writing over a bad break up, but when so many songs by one band are over the very same thing it gets to be a bit repititive. I think we, and our music too, needs to move beyond this "post-grunge" barrier, find a new genre to create, inspire something new and creative, Seether has the capacity, I know it. Shinedown has already taken the first steps, their newest album "Sound of Madness" displays their ability to invent new music writing styles very well, they have songs that are politically based, socially based, death, hard living, , and good times long gone. Those descriptions relate to the songs "Devour" "Sound of Madness" "What a Shame" "(forget the name...)" and "The Crow and the Butterfly" respectively. So let's hear it for new music!!!

Well, no offense but take a look at the copyright date on the cd. And anytime that you're feeling creative enough to create a new "genre" of music, I'll be eager to be the first to hear it.

To me this song could just be about the feeling of giving up all hope, not wanting to live anymore and deal with things.

i think this song has absolutely nothing to do with a girl. I think this is a song about some 'friend' of Shaun's who was begging for his help at some point. But Shaun remembered that the friend was never there for him when he needed a friend. When Shaun wanted to die, he was without his friends. When all those other things happened, the friend was never there. So now that the friend is in need, Shaun "doesnt wanna save him anymore", and is just gonna let him fall. what goes around comes around. Just my opinion :)

I have to agree with itsbeenawhile. This song seems like its about having someone you "thought" was your friend, but they end up stabbing you in the back in the end.

I went through the same thing. I had this friend that was gay and he was all scared about coming out to his family but i was right by him the whole time and he did it. But he fucked me over with a girl because he was gay even though he told her he liked her and he knew i liked her and he was starting drama. So the girl that i liked didn't go for me because she felt uncomfortable to choose between us and it was all his fault. So, yeah, fuck that guy.

I can completely relate to this song.

4saken... if you really moved on and crap you wouldn't start saying shit about her in some random message board. She didn't right this, by the way, one of the members form Seether did.
