Northern Comfort is about a man who abuses alcohol to the extreme and ends up killing himself. The reaper comes and takes his soul, etc. bodom. etc. Southern Comfort is a crappy hic liquor used mostly in Alabama Slammers. Northern Comfort most likely comes from just plain avoiding copyright infringement, or Finlands location on the Earth.
