He is in love with someone who makes it all disappear. ;) This is one of my favorites from INXS.

This is my favourite INXS song, it is so wonderful

I seriously doubt this song is about drugs or alcohol. I see it as being about a lover who is so sweet that all the pain is taken away, all the worrying and such. Or rather, she helps him carry it. I love the chorus- very uplifting.

My interpretation is that he sees that there are many problems and issues going on in the world and it makes him sad. Regardless of what is happening around him, there is one angelic woman that will make everything alright and the world's problems can be cast aside.

Not my favourite, but certainly very sweet.

Pretty simple to me. Everything is in the first stanza.

All what's happening in the world makes me sad and I can't ignore it, but you are the only person who makes me forget it all and makes me feel good.

Life sucks, world sucks, but you make it a nice place to live.

This is a great song. INXS might be better known for "New Sensation" or "Devil Inside", but in my opinion this is just as good.

I dont think its self explanatory, except for the general meaning. But there are specific questions: Is he talking to an ex-girlfriend? If he is asking for her to come back, then why he is not asking to forgive him or saying that he forgives her?

Certainly he's talking to a girl he knew. But why is he suffering and who broke the relationship if there was any? If he's guilty and he is asking for her to come back then he should be asking for forgiveness too.
