Father Cannot Yell Lyrics
Look at the place where my hand curbs,
Stops the curse and finds another place,
And with you mother screams “I am mother”,
Woman screams “I am fertile” and the father can’t yell.
Ring correction demonstrates the mind
Finds its way on down the river,
And you keep remembering mother screams “I am mother”,
Woman screams “I am fertile” and the father,
He hasn’t been born yet, he hasn’t been born yet.
All has been forgotten and the plastic turns to rotten rays and smells,
All appointed to the definite beautiful.
Mother there invents the aiding,
Woman who just lies there waiting and the father,
He hasn’t been born yet, he hasn’t been born yet.
You may expect you fix all your money to pay the bills
And keep remembering mother screams “choose the way”
And the woman says she won’t stay and your father,
He hasn’t been born yet.
All has been forgotten and the plastic turns to rotten rays and smells,
All appointed to the definite beautiful.
Mother who invents the aiding,
Woman who just lies there waiting and the father,
He hasn’t been born yet, he hasn’t been born yet,
He hasn’t been born yet, he hasn’t been born yet,

Well, actually, inpraiseoffolly... Malcolm Mooney DIDN'T go insane. He just wanted to leave the band. Allegedly he DID have a nervous breakdown at a concert and kept repeating the phrase "Upstairs, downstairs" (I can believe that), but he never had any lasting mental health problems. He's still a sculptor and poet to this day... however obscure. :3
Wow, there is a "comment section"? I didn't think a song like this was intelligent enough for Youtube, Yelp and Netflix commenters, but whatever. Can is an incredible and influential band. If you listen to this song, you have absolutely no idea what time it came from, but it was released in 1969.
1969! Are you kidding me? Listen to anything that came out of 1969 and you will only find one band that was even close, the Velvet Underground. Of course you have no idea what this song means! Go back to your over-affluent life of HD tvs in the subburbs of the USA. You are not ready for reality.
This is music of struggle. In a country that wanted nothing more than to see there own people tin the East see freedom. What do you know except Krispy Cream, man? What do you know except what the Kardashians are doing, you ignorant, fuck! Learn and stop talking, fool. Learn, and stop talking, fool. Learn, and stop talking, fool. Learn, and stop talking fool. Learn, and stop talking, fool. Learn, and stop talking, fool. Learn, and stop talking, fool.
@mick130175 Your post lacks Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart.

I love Can, but yeah.
I love Can, but yeah.
These lyrics are simply strange... I have no clue what they are about... not surprising considering that Malcolm Mooney ended up in an insane asylum...
He's talking about sexual liberalization. From a western perspective we see women as fertile, and beautiful, independent etc., they've found their voice sometime in the 60s and beyond during women's rights movements. A woman can be functional and powerful like a man, but can still be beautiful and weak, as Mooney says "All appointed to the definite beautiful. Mother who invents the aiding, Woman who just lies there waiting" In western society we see women as sort of muses who inspire men to take action, but more and more in modern society we also see them as equals in ability...
Mother who invents the aiding, Woman who just lies there waiting" In western society we see women as sort of muses who inspire men to take action, but more and more in modern society we also see them as equals in ability and skill. They have been liberalized, they have found a voice. On the other hand, a lot of men dont have this ability to be sexually liberalized, they don't have the right words or feelings to describe it. Men are simply tools, things that take action, things that are ugly yet effective. They have no time for beauty they are simply meant to be ,effective "men". We dont appreciate a man for his beauty or weakness, we only value his strength and coarseness. For an example, think of a television beer commercial, how many have you see with lesbians making out, bros high-fiving, grilling meats, etc. But how many do you see with two men making out? Its non-existent, our society is fine with the thought of women loving eachother, because they have been sexually liberalized, but I would say we still have a lot of misgivings, as a society, when it comes to two men in love. It seems more silly, weak, and less authentic from a societal view. Men have not had a this same catalyst as women. From this day and age men cannot say in a similar way to women "I am beautiful and strong" its only "I'm strong" for men. Our western societies still do not appreciate the beauty and sexuality of man like we do woman. Although I feel like the change is coming, if slowly and gradually.
