Uniform printout reads end of line
Protect code intact leaves little time
Erratic surveys, free thinking not allowed
My hands shake, my push buttons silence
The outside crowd

One world government has outlawed war among nations
Now social control requires population termination

Have we come too far
To turn around
Does emotion hold the key
Is logic just a synonym for
This savagery, disguised in
Forgotten lost memory

Microchip logic
have we no more thoughts
"Is this wrong" I enter

Have we come too far

The song stresses an important element as it tells the tale of man and machine merging into a so-called super being bent on exterminating the imperfect, inefficient human being: emotion is partly what makes us human. The super-logic of machinery able to wipe out civilization is merely a synonym for savagery. There is nothing "superior" in this logic - all humans possess the attributes of emotion and logic. Machines capable of such logic must never be classified "superhuman", for they are but a tiny fraction of what it truly means to be a human being - their cold logic is the worst part of us that forgets, loses or disguises the better angles of a special nature. It can be fairly argued that dictators are machine-like creatures suppressing their own humanity while employing twisted logic to spew inhuman mathematical formulas we now call genocide.

This song is written from the perspective of a nuclear missile operations officer and takes place in the future. They have been given the directive to fire their missile (Nuclear Missile 156) by a computer in order to reduce world population. He’s struggling with his conscience and asking for clarification as to the authenticity of his orders.

the song is about population control by government where people are assigned a number and picked by lottery and when ur # comes up you die. The guy singing is the programmer and his # came up, 156, so he is going to die. duh. ~rach

Everyone here is right to some degree. Like many good songs, there is the specifics, and then the theme, which is the chorus. I'm more interested in the general theme - that of losing our humanity because of machines - whether imposed by the government or not.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
