another good song by OLP that i listened to a lot when i was depressed

I love this song. I never understood the meaning though, but then I read an interview with Raine a few days ago. Here's what he has to say about it: "It's about Benny Henn...he's a greedy thief...tries to con people through religion...has got some very interesting silver hair...it's about the day he's about to die...looking into his eyes and seeing if all the propaganda that he told people...if he believes it himself." -Raine Maida

I love this song... I love the chorus. I never really understood it. I never would have figured out what it was about on my own. To me it was just somebody getting punished through death, for what they've done wrong. I love the line "running away from the backs of opinions, borrowed and betrayed"

This song is about someone that does too much drugs (like speed or coke i think) and they never go to sleep. The drugs will wear them out, make them hide and finally watch them die. "borrowed and betrayed", most drug users borrow money and betray their friends. "a shameless abusing"- of drugs.

It's a song about Televangelist Benny Hinn, a miracle healer. And if he really believes what he leads other people to believe. Will God really be there for him at the end, when he's dying.

If you've ever seen one of Hinn's shows or talked to any of his fundies, he claims to heal people with "The Power of the Christ."

The song calls him a liar and is about the artist wanting to watch him die to watch Hinn find the ultimate truth for himself.

No wonder I never was able to figure out this song, that all makes sense now. I love that song, I could've listened to it a million times and not gotten what it meant...ok, maybe I did listen to it a million times and never figured it out. Now it all makes sense. Thaks for that.

I think this song kind of applies to everyone and the way they all need to be broken down. Do they all beleive their own stupid lies?

People have their own methods of dealing with their emotions and thoughts. Everyone has some kind of escape plan for reality. This song is about chasing someone away from their teet of shallow escape.

i feel its about the random cruelty and kindness of the world. you never know whos trying to fuck you over or whos trying to help you out

Wow, I've always adored this song, and I never knew it was about that. So interesting. "Don't ask why you should pay for this..." I love that line. "This time we're saving you" now makes sense.

I always thought it was about someone who used everyone around them and was fake... but, either way a fabulous song!
