My Kind Of Scene Lyrics

tell me where I'm
supposed to begin
an unhappy life working
some kind of dead end job
for everything you thought you had
has gone from worse to bad
lean to the side
whisper it quiet
the end is in sight to working
all night around the clock
for everything you thought you had
has gone from worse to bad
but it's not my kind of scene oh yeah
footprints on the other side
remind me where I've been oh yeah
I'll watch from the other side
tell me where I'm
supposed to begin
move out of sight and onto
some life I'm dreaming of
for everything you thought you had
has gone from worse to bad
so I'll just wait and watch the wheels
while you're turning back
but it's not my kind of scene oh yeah
footprints on the other side
remind me where I've been oh yeah
I'll watch from the other side
it pulls me over and it drags me under
it pulls me over and it drags me under
background: tell me where I'm
supposed to begin
an unhappy life working
alright now alright now
alright now alright now
but it's not my kind of scene oh yeah
footprints on the other side
remind me where I've been oh yeah
I'll watch from the other side
alright now alright now
I'll watch from the other side
alright now alright now
I'll watch from the other side

i reckon this song is about how the grass always seems to be greener on the other side of the fence.'footprints on the other sideo. it seems a little pessimistic but that's how i see it- 'for everything you thought you had has gone from worse to bad'. i also think it brings up the possibility that a lot of us have no direction in life and therefore need someone to point us in the right direction.

Basically this bit summarises what this song means to me. For me it's about beating addictions. Worse to bad basically means although fightign the addiction is hard/bad it's still better than being worse and still addicted. This guy is watching from the other side and the scar/footprints are reminding him where he doesn't want to be anymore.

I think he's related it back to working till you're spent so that it's accessible to more people.

this song kicks ass it seems to be about realising that life isnt going how you want it to (but it's not my kind of scene oh yeah footprints on the other side ) but that there is still time to change the way its going (the end is in sight to working...,I'll watch from the other side)

Great song - powerfully emotional just like its video clip of a slow motion car crash - Very pleased this song made the international soundtrack of that Bond film
