I am not senorita
I am not from your tribe
In the garden I did no crime
I am not your senorita

I am not from your tribe
If you want inside her well
Boy you better make her raspberry swirl
Things are getting desperate

When all the boys can't be men
Everybody knows I'm her friend
Everybody knows I'm her man
I'm not your senorita

I don't aim so high
In my heart I did no crime
If you want inside her well,
Boy you better make her raspberry swirl

"The animus in me is raspberry swirl, I'm in love with my women friends, but I just don't eat pussy. But I'm in love with them. If I had a different sensibility, then you know I think I could, you know, really fulfill someone down there, where a lot of men in their lives don't. And eating pussy is a metaphor, too - it's about crawling in there, being with their juices, really being with them."

yes, this song is sexual, and although i am a lesbian, i must say that the lyrics are hetero. "If you want inside her, well, boy you better make her raspberry swirl." In a very physical sense (yes, Tori is capable of carnal knowledge, she is, after all, an adult. These aren't kid songs), she seems to be saying that if he wants to get "some" from his woman, he'd better make her feel good first, i.e., make her raspberry swirl, i.e., lick pink, i.e., LICK PUSSY! so let's all be adults here and not worry about some sexual Tori lyrics.

    Quoted from Storytellers:

"In some of my relationships with a few of my women friends, I play a certain role. Heh, this is really getting in...I know, I hope my father's not watching this. He just doesn't know what to do. The straight-jacket's coming. But you know I always told my dad - you know, gays, lesbians, he just has to get used to it. One of the neices and nephews is gonna be one, he's just gotta get ready. So what I said was ah to Beenie, who's the love of my life. My husband understands this, that we're married. We're absolutely married. And I adore her with all my heart. And she's dated some idiots. And I hope you're watching. I want you to know what I think of you and in another life, I'll absolutely kick your ass. And I'm going to kick it right now actually, because this is for her and I'm in love with her."

I think Tori has always loved Beenie (Nancy Shanks), and been her protector of sorts "everybody knows I'm her man." Beenie was treated badly by men in her past. In my opinion... This song is a big f-you to the jerks, and a welcome to any man who can step up to the plate and treat Beenie with respect.

Fantastic song ,its so obviously sexual , I'm not your senorita presumably means she isn't her lover , I'm not from your tribe - she isn't gay . BUT In the garden - isn't this a reference to the 'perfumed garden ' - e.g. pussy ? I did no crime -its aint wrong . she aint gay but she did it anyway . Now the object ,for the want of a much better word , of the song is fantastically attractive to guys also ss here's a bit of good advice....... if you want 'inside her well ' you gotta do some serious ground work dude ! ...... raspberry swirl (swell) ... Maybe all the young guns are not up to it ....things are getting des-desparate when all the boys can't be men .(oh god how frustrating !)
Maybe its only a woman who can get her there ... the last few seconds is clearly post orgasm . ..

I think it also kinda goes along with the closeness of women. Kind of like that protectiveness that comes with being best friends. Like a man wants to get with her, well, he better make her raspberry swirl. And friends always make sure their friends are taken care of. The song is in fact very sexual in nature. We can give our friends everything they need except one thing.... And let's face it, it takes a real man to give a woman what she needs.

"Raspberry swirl" actually seems a very delicate way to put it, upon consideration. Very tactful. And just something that might help - "strawberry" is slang for giving head to a girl while she's menstruating, or here it is at least. Irrelevant, I think, but interesting.

Either way, this song kicks ass. Melodious pseudo-dance that just blows me away.

This song is pretty visceral for me - it just gives me a sense of feminism, sexual power, maybe a little aggression. It's like saying to some asshole guy 'You idiot! I know more more about pleasing 'your senorita' than you do!"

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Page

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
