I agree - he has finally found all that he's been looking for, and the effect is totally positive - however, to get to the ideal that he's currently enjoying, he would have had to have a few relationships that failed or had some shortcomings - on another note, my favorite Association tune (Along Comes Mary is 2nd) and these guys truly can sing
I can imagine this being by a singer/songwriter who has been writing and singing about love, but it was all imagined—theoretical—until he met a woman who made it all come true.
One of my fave songs. I don't really know what's the song about, but I guess it has to do with being in love with a girl who shows no flaws, only perks.

I'm a pretty sensitive person, and I have no problem with expressing my emotions. I can cry at the drop of a hat sometimes, and my friend knows this as, big surprise, I regularly post blogs on Youtube which he watches. He's seen me in my most intimate moments. With that said, I think it's about a person who is like me.
