This song is about Badfinger giving thanks and bidding farewell to the Beatles Apple Records label to go to Warner Brothers' label. Apple Records were the ones that discovered the band and gave these kids from Wales the chance of a lifetime when they were called The Iveys in the late 1960s, and were one of the very few that believed they could be successful. They gave thanks to them and felt that now it was time to move on to more sunny skies at Warner Brothers.

Unfortunately, it didn't quite work out that way for Badfinger.

Definetely a farewell to the Beatles. Apple Records was a mess with the Fab 4 being in court. They left Apple because they had to. They'd have been worse off remaining there.

An emotional tune. The handwriting was on the wall for the band after this.
