    I'm not sure exactly but I think she's in love with him and she knows he has feeling for her but she dont think he's sure of himself. She wants him to prove his true feelings for her.."'Cos if I died tonight Would you hold my hand, no Would you understand And if I lived in spite Would you still be there, no Would you disappear"

    Would you love me in enough to be there for me no matter what happens or would you just leave me? Anyway that's what I think...Cranberries are a good band..I love the way she sings

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion.
