We got a drug
We're gonna try it out on you
Won't make you die
It'll getcha just a little bit sick

(chorus)
Got a head cold
Got a chest cold
And it's three days old
(Goin' on forever)
Make you hazy
Make you lazy
Drive you crazy
For days and days and days and days
And years

Barely got the time now
To stay on the job
Double up the dosage in your water supply
Make you even sicker 'til you're slippin' away

Getting all depressed
It's getting all your friends
You can't get up
For nothing that'll rock the boat

The Government Flu
The Government Flu
The Government Flu

Slip it abroad
Keep a-slowin' down the USSR
But meanwhile
We'll keep an eye
On what it's doin' to you

(chorus)
Got a head cold
Got a chest cold
And it's three days old
(Goin' on forever)
Make you hazy
Make you lazy
Drive you crazy
For days and days and days and days and days
And days and days and days and days and days
And days and days and days and days and days
And years

The Government Flu
The Government Flu
The Government Flu
Flew
Through
You.

There's no veil on these lyrics although a simple-minded jack ass would disagree. Not one of DK's prouder moments but the reason I'm posting a comment is how insanely obvious the parrot effect is in this song. Jello bit off Dylan, Dylan bit off Woodie Guthrie, and every so called punk rock band that sand something besides sex drugs and rock n roll (which is more than suitable for me) bit off our beloved dead kennedys. I wish more songs nowadays had the balls to push the envelope like jello did, and once again, this song wasn't there strongest but how can you not feed into the notion of big brother's evil agenda. And I don't think its just an appetite for conspiracy theory bull-shit, what Jello wrote about is not literal, I don't think I have to even explain that, but what I think he is trying to convey is the Absolute Loss Of Trust. And the saddest part is that its a loss among ourselves, our own communities, our own state, of our country. And now, 2010, "everything" is so blatantly corrupt and dead that we need so many more song slike this but the Fuckin God Damn American People don't even give a shit if they're getting raped, robbed, or ripped off. Give them convenience ogr give them death!!!!

    Song Meaning

This song is about the government pumping us full of unnecessary drugs, for their own gains. They do it in order to slowly kill off an increasing world population. Why does a healthy small child need so many vaccinations? How has the human race survived until now? We don't need them! The Illuminati and the New World Order are killing us off and have been doing this since the 70s, with their swine flu jabs. Check out David Icke and his theories on the Illuminati/NWO and swine flu vaccinations on youtube - it's scary stuff, but essential viewing!

    My Interpretation

The Government funnel you into a lifestyle that's convenient for them. You work 9-5, 5 days a week, until you're either dead or about to retire. That's what the Government flu is.

They stick Flouride in the drinking water which has proven to have detrimental effects on health when cosumed in large quantities.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.

Zombie
Cranberries, The
"Zombie" is about the ethno-political conflict in Ireland. This is obvious if you know anything of the singer (Dolores O'Riordan)'s Irish heritage and understood the "1916" Easter Rising reference. "Another head hangs lowly Child is slowly taken And the violence caused such silence Who are we mistaken - Another mother's breaking Heart is taking over" Laments the Warrington bomb attacks in which two children were fatally injured on March 23rd, 1993. Twelve year old Tim Parry was taken off life support with permission from his mother after five days in the hospital, virtually braindead. "But you see it's not me It's not my family" References how people who are not directly involved with the violence feel about it. They are "zombies" without sympathy who refuse to take action while others suffer.

Of Mice & Men
This track is about is about questioning why the sky would choose to be blue if it had the choice to be anything else, “blue also meaning sad,” states frontman Aaron Pauley. “It's about comforting a loved one in a time of loss by telling them you feel blue, too.”
