Crying In The Rain Lyrics
I'll never let you see
The way my broken heart is hurting me
I've got my pride and I know how to hide
All the sorrow and pain
I'll do my crying in the rain
If I wait for stormy skies
You won't know the rain from the tears in my eyes
You'll never know that I still love you so
Though the heartaches remain
I'll do my crying in the rain
Raindrops falling from heaven
Will never wash away my misery
But since we're not together
I'll wait for stormy weather
To hide these tears I hope you'll never see
Someday when my crying's done
I'm gonna wear a smile and walk in the sun
I may be a fool
But till then, darling, you'll never see me complain
I'll do my crying in the rain
The way my broken heart is hurting me
I've got my pride and I know how to hide
All the sorrow and pain
I'll do my crying in the rain
You won't know the rain from the tears in my eyes
You'll never know that I still love you so
Though the heartaches remain
I'll do my crying in the rain
Will never wash away my misery
But since we're not together
I'll wait for stormy weather
To hide these tears I hope you'll never see
I'm gonna wear a smile and walk in the sun
I may be a fool
But till then, darling, you'll never see me complain
I'll do my crying in the rain

I'm a great believer in giving credit to the original artists. So A-ha, even though you are, in my eyes, the best band there is, I refuse to interpret this song under you name. This Song was original Written and sung by:
THE EVERLY BROTHERS
So anyone who wishes to interpret it, please go there :D
Sorry lads :p
@Shadowsoal2000 The song was actually written by Howard Greenfield and composed by Carol King . The Everly Brothers sang it so in that respect you're correct

Better than the original and for me the best song of the Group
@rlix I like "Stay on these Roads" more, but those vocals by Morten knock the Everly Brothers version completely off the ground.

I'm sorry but I have never heard the original version, I loved this song through a-ha.
It is a very beautiful song. Sad but also hopeful. I especially love this part:
"Someday when my crying's done I'm gonna wear a smile and walk in the sun"
I watched them play it live in Thessaloniki, Greece. They were amazing! In fact they sound much better live! :) Can you imagine?
this song is really a carole king song, she wrote it with with howard greenfield, but she never had the same success as the everly borthers did when the recorded it one year later.
erm, crying the rain wasnt even by the everlys. it was sung by them. i think it was written by carole king and another. so even the everlys dont deserve the credit by Shadows logic.
In any event, who cares. lets just interpret the song :)
it's basically about pride in love and relationships. the guy has been hurt but he wants to act as the guy and not cry. and he says he will only cry in the rain, so she doesn't get to see that she has hurt him so. maybe, crying in the rain will help him too as ever venting he might get to smile.
I love this verse "If I wait for stormy skies You won't know the rain from the tears in my eyes You'll never know that I still love you so Though the heartaches remain I'll do my crying in the rain "
This song is great, no matter who covers it :) It's about hurting after a heartbreak. Lots of people can relate
This song like any other creates a picture of flying.
I thought that this song belonged to them… Seeing this post it isn´t but… They really made this song theirs; one of the best covers I have ever heard.
I have heard the Everly Brothers version of the song, but it isn't my favorite music style.
The a-ha version has a way nicer buildup, better vocals and gets the message across way better. The instruments and synths used give the song much more power than the Everly Brothers could have achieved (they are of course limited by technology and time, and I understand that).
The song is about lovesickness, and trying to get over a breakup.
magsimillion: well, that was kind of what i said, wasn't it? anyway, still a great song!
