She Don't Use Jelly (Flaming Lips cover) Lyrics
I know a girl who
thinks of ghosts
she'll make you breakfast,
she'll make you toast
she don't use butter,
she don't use cheese,
she don't use jelly or
any of these
she uses vaseline,
vaseline
I know a guy who
goes to shows
when he's at home and
he blows his nose
he don't use tissues
or his sleeve
he don't use napkins or
any of these
he uses magazines,
magazines
and I know this girl who
reminds me of Cher
she's always changing the
color of her hair
but she don't use nothing
that ya buy at the store
she likes her hair to
be real orange
she uses tangerines,
tangerines,
tangerines,
tangerines
thinks of ghosts
she'll make you breakfast,
she'll make you toast
she don't use butter,
she don't use cheese,
she don't use jelly or
any of these
she uses vaseline,
vaseline
I know a guy who
goes to shows
when he's at home and
he blows his nose
he don't use tissues
or his sleeve
he don't use napkins or
any of these
he uses magazines,
magazines
reminds me of Cher
she's always changing the
color of her hair
but she don't use nothing
that ya buy at the store
she likes her hair to
be real orange
she uses tangerines,
tangerines,

uh, i don't know. did Ben Folds cover this? i always thought it was done by Flaming Lips...
So did I. I never heard of Ben covering this one. Hmm . . .
yup, he covered it. i have it downloaded...it's pretty good, too.
he covered it, it's excellent :)
hey rather than "she likes her hair to be real orange" i've seen "she likes her hairdo to be real orange" and instead of "thinks of ghosts" i've seen "thinks and goes" just wondering which is right...but any way it's a really cool song, i love how it starts off at the beginning and the piano ending
I haven't heard Ben Folds Five's version of this. I'll have to look out for it next time I'm on Kazaa.
geewey, I'm pretty sure it's "ghosts". "Thinks and goes" doesn't really make much sense. I don't think it's "hairdo" either. I'm going by the Flaming Lips version as I haven't heard BFF's one. They may do it differently.
yup, Ben Folds Five covered the Flaming Lips. their version can be found on the "Lounge-a-Palooza" comp, I believe. and as you'd expect, it's quite good. Ben Folds Five has done a bunch of cover songs and they've done justice to every single one of them. such a great band, it's sad they had to go and break up.
BFF recorded it for 'Live at Sessions at West 54th', its really good, everyone go and get the DVD!
Yes, this song is on the "Lounge-A-Palooza" comp which is an excellent CD, and it's also the B-Side of a bunch of singles. There is a studio version as well as the live DVD version, and it is a Flaming Lips cover. Hearing Ben do it made me go out and buy Transmissions From The Satellite Heart.
I've always thought this song was a very wittley worded song full of metaphors for Masturbation, but I could be wrong.
Yeah. Flaming Lips does the song a kind of rock-style way, whereas Folds Five covers it in a sort of... mariachi band style. I think it's hilarious. And I'm pretty sure it's on the remastered Whatever and Ever, Amen.
