I see you standing there
I see a tear in your eye
Why'd you turn away
Why'd you run
Run till this point of breaking
No walking away
No walking away
You were the one that I looked to
I never thought I'd see you run
I never thought I'd see you turn your back on all you knew was right
You turned you back on God
No walking away
No walking away
No walking away yeah
No walking away?
For the wages of sin is death
But the gift of God is eternal life
In Christ Jesus our Lord
Do not be overcome by evil
But overcome evil with good
No walking away?
I see a tear in your eye
Why'd you turn away
Why'd you run
Run till this point of breaking
No walking away
No walking away
You were the one that I looked to
I never thought I'd see you run
I never thought I'd see you turn your back on all you knew was right
You turned you back on God
No walking away
No walking away
No walking away yeah
No walking away?
For the wages of sin is death
But the gift of God is eternal life
In Christ Jesus our Lord
Do not be overcome by evil
But overcome evil with good
No walking away?

I think this song is about how someone he looked up to for their Christian example has done a 180...they turned their back on all they knew was right, and they turned their back on God. But I think that he's saying that even though he looks up to them and follows their example, he's not gonna follow them in the bad stuff that they're doing... "no walking away"
Hi, I just joined and this is my first comment/lyric correction. There are two lines missing from these lyrics which are important to understanding the full meaning of the song (as demonstrated by "genericusername"'s somewhat inaccurate interpretation). Just before the Romans 6:23 quote are the lyrics "I see you back again, you'll never run again. This time....no walkin' away...no walkin' away. These lyrics are again repeated after the scriptural lyrics; being mixed into the ending refrain. Also, NO WALKING AWAY is an imperative statement, not a question and should not have a question mark. With these corrections, the actual meaning of the song becomes more apparent -- Someone that he looked up to turned their back on God but has found their way back to "all they knew was right". He admonishes that person by expressing that they cannot repeat the mistake. Thanks "BassicChick" for posting the lyrics! Thanks "genericusername" for diggin' the tune so much you were prompted to post your comment. Gotta love the pureness of Kutless!
