Personally I can't help but to understand that as the state your body goes through when you are in withdrawal. During that time the pupils become very large and sensitive to light and you are in a state of hellish insomnia and anxiety so as a result the teeth chatter and grind.

This song was written by Jerry, but the songs meaning is definitely speaking for Layne about the rumors the media made up as well as the reality of the lifestyle Layne choose...
