Too Much, Too Young Lyrics
You've done too much
much too young
Now you're married with a kid
when you could be having fun with me
oh no, no gimme no more pickni
You've done too much
much too young
Now you're married with a son
when you should be having fun with me
we don't want, we don't want
we don't want no more pickni
Ain't he cute?
No he ain't
He's just another burden
on the welfare state
You've done too much
much too young
Now you're married with a kid
when you could be having fun with me
no gimme,no gimme,no gimme no more pickni
Call me immature
Call me a poser
I'd love to spread manure in your bed of roses
Don't want to be rich
Don't want to be famous
But I'd really hate to have the same name as you
(you silly moo)
You've done too much
much too young
Now you're married with a kid
when you could be having fun with me
gi we de birth control, we no want no pickni
You've done too much
much too young
Now you're chained to the cooker
making currant buns for tea
oh no, no gimme no more pickni
Ain't you heard of the starving millions
Ain't you heard of contraception
Do you really a program of sterilization
Take control of the population boom
It's in your living room
Keep a generation gap
Try wearing a cap
much too young
Now you're married with a kid
when you could be having fun with me
much too young
Now you're married with a son
when you should be having fun with me
we don't want no more pickni
No he ain't

Skatastic song, heard this song for the first time i think while making out with a girlfriend i had, haha, good times
An amazing song, especially the live version. The song is all about teenage pregnancy, getting pregnent too young and not being able to enjoy the rest of the teenage life.
when he says 'try wearing a cap' he just sounds annoyed and fed up- I think that that's especially geared at his anger towards men always having a bad name for teenage pregnancy- when the female is acting just as bad.
condoms are just the safest way of making sure that you don't end up with a pickni. even when she tells you, that she is on birthcontrol. rather safe than sorry.

cap - a dutch cap. The song is about teenage pregnancy, but it's pretty misogynistic very much blaming the woman for having allowed herself to get pregnant and portraying her as stupid and unambitious.
That's really the point. It's a song of selfish frustration. He was young and single, had a thing for a young married woman with a child (with some reciprocation of feelings) but she/they put the child first so nothing happened.

I think I've seen somewhere this song would not be played when it came out because of its views on birth control. Interesting.
