This song reminds me of my own recent situation, and I think it probably is the meaning to this song. It sounds like he's finally told his girlfriend or wife or whatever how he really feels, and it isn't good news for the relationship. He maybe went into it just wanting to say a few things, but ended up saying enough things to doom the relationship. The end is near (the wolves are coming down). |

I love the irony of the reply to this where the replier begins with a relatively decent argument (regardless of my opinion of it), and then they go after the aggressiveness of the original poster and call them an idiotic halfwit for not being able to hold a decent structured argument. Then, they top it off with calling them a douche bag, which seems to be the same type of behavior they were bashing the sentence before. This stuff belongs to a group with the other stupid internet argument tactics like, "spell-check bicth!" and "You're wrong because you suck." Anyways, I have nothing to add to the Vines cover argument myself because I have never heard that. I just thought this was funny. I will add that I think the chorus at least may be about black people and how the world or america views them (as another poster already put). |

i think it starts off with a break up while driving... then it escelates... and gets really bad... eventually he realises what is gonna happen (girl gonna wreck on purpose) :"Don’t put me underground, I was meant for a life somewhere else..." ...and also in the chorus... "As we were, so perfect, so happy. Don’t remember, only your smiles because that’s all they’ve seen.".. i didnt quite get that for awhile, and im still not sure, but i think its talking about how things were before the breakup and how people saw them... and finally the girl drives off the curve as foreshadowed the whole time in the chorus ("Long since dried, when we are found, are the tears in which we had drowned.") the song is very good and intense... i cant wait to see them for the 3rd time in a few days! |

this is a great song...its almost half sad, half happy... its sad in the way he's at war and all the points that everyone has said...but its also happy for how through all this bad, if he died he'd still consider it a wonderful life because of his love. either way its a great great song...one of my favorite songs ever. |
