I Got The Girl

First, I am a huge Bon Jovi fan. Second, I love this cd, when i heard this song I thought it was just a love song...now as I read the lyrics it becomes clear to me that it's really about his daughter, Stephanie. The lines "If I was a holy man I'd get down on my knees So the angels that watch over her would give a break to me Holy Mother of saint bubble gum and Sister band-aid knees Won't you please pray for the ones like me

But the truth is someday Somebody is gonna take her from me But the queen of hearts will always be A five-year-old princess to me (to me)" --The mother of bubblegum and sister band aid knee is a kid reference, and about him on his knees begging is him begging and wanting a little girl. And i hope I don't have to explain the five-year-old princess thing, that should be obvious. It just all makes sense.

A great song. Can just imagine Stephanie listening to this when she's 18.

I love this song, its very sweet and yes, it does refer to Stephanie, but when I first heard it, not really listening to it and just hearing the chorus, I thought it was a really cute jumpy happy song :-) and it still is...

I play this song for my little sister, who's 6. It's cool that a father-daughter song can be interpreted in a different way. That's the beauty of music.
