Bloody excellent song... Makes me feel so good. "Looking for a single thread of melody to help me get by" is the best line. You cant beat this band for talent. As for what its about... I dont know. Everyone has a personal opinion I guess.
The final decline of a relationship that was doomed from the beginning. While the two loved each other, they were too different to make it last, and this song is lamenting the end of the relationship and the need to get over and carry on.
ok so im pretty sure this is about a relationship.
i think that it might be about a relationship which kinda stuffed up and its over but he wants her back. but everyone else seems to just carry on and move on with life.
it's about a guy who let the girl he loved walk away thinking she would come because she always used to. But this time she does'nt. He sees everyone life carry on, thinks hers as well, wonders if it's real, never believed she could, used to pass the time waiting for her to come back, slowly its sinking in that she wont be coming back this time, he pours his heart out hoping that it will make her change her mind or change what is happening, he feels alone watching everyone going by because without her life has no sense, he hopes she will come back and tell him this isnt real and she still loves him, he cannot believe this is it. Maybe this time things are different and should not happen this way whatever the way it should now...
